A soap museum dedicated to the history and science of soap. The museum is an old, restored 19th century building with high ceilings and original stonework. On display, are two old presses and other agricultural tools, typical of South West Sicily. The inspiration to open a soap museum, comes from our experience in making and producing soap and natural cosmetics. We would like to share our passion and knowledge about the history, science and technicalities of soap making, to eveyone interested in learning more about this essential product, which started to be produced in 2800 B.C. All the visits to the museum are guided tours, and at the end of your visit you will have the chance to try our products. We are open weekdays from Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with a reservation, and you may visit us out of these hours and at the weekend if we are available.

The Temple is considered to be attributed to Juno/Hera although this is now disputed. The temple dates from about 450 BC and is in a commanding position at the highest point of the Valley of the temples. The north colonade is especially well preserved.

Family of 15 visited this The Turkish Steps on a trip from Taormina south to Agrigento. Recommend seeing this site while visiting Valley of the Gods nearby. Steps are located along cliffs above the Sea in this area of Sicily. They are made from what appears to be white chalk. The wind has carved "steps" into these cliffs over time which gives them their unique beauty but also allows people to climb them. Their is a significant walk down below to the beach and then along the shoreline to reach these cliffs. For mobile folks in decent physical condition. Steps can be climbed - but carefully. Great location for photo buffs and photo ops! We had lunch down the beach at Mejata Beach Café. Very nice and decent food and drink!

So often, in Europe, upon visiting a church or mosque, you learn of other ancient religious buildings that stood on the same place, often converted to others. In Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Greci, pillars and floors of an ancient Greek temple can be seen. It's truly amazing to walk down along the side of the church and see the Greek pillars. In the church, they've made part of the floor glass, so you can look down at the original Greek temple.
The church is pretty - I especially like the wooden ceiling. A visit here helps pull make the ancient history human - people through the ages.

Touring Sicily we found many places with beautiful empty houses. Most of them in the middle of towns. I think that the idea of “Farm Cultural Parks” had a potential to inject new energy into such places and to make them alive again. This idea should be supported by municipalities and the State, because it is not easy to accomplish by individuals.
I encourage people to travel and visit the Farm Cultural Park in Favara.
