The bus from train station matched with the train arrival time. The beautiful gorge was painted with changing color of falling leaves. Several photographers were waiting to take a photo of the train entering the tunnel. I was lucky that it was around 10.55-11.00 when I was there and got the pictures.

バイパスが出来る前の旧国道１０７号線沿い。日本人のみの手による我国最初のアーチダムで、治水・灌漑・発電の多目的ダムとして昭和３２年に完成。事業仕分けの俎上に載せられることなく今も健在。「長時間の駐車は不審車とみなし、警察に通報します」と警告。テロ対策の一環でしょうか。路上駐車には呉々もご留意願います。

入口から階段を降りたところに券売機と受付があります。脱衣場にはロッカーがないので、貴重品は靴と一緒に下駄箱に入れることになります。露天風呂はなく内湯のみですが天井が高くて開放的で、湯舟は普通の浴槽と深い浴槽の2つに区分されています。木製の湯口からスロープのように温泉が掛け流されていますが、源泉が高温のため加水しているとのことでした。お湯はかすかに硫黄の匂いがして少し黄色がかっており、サラッとして気持ち良かったです。2階に畳の広間があるので休憩もできます。

片道約30分の歩きやすい遊歩道で、途中に間歇泉が３か所あります。途中ずっと硫黄臭がたちこめ、連れ合いはそれが嫌いでさっさと帰ることになりましたが、途中にベンチも整備されていて、本当はゆっくり楽しめるところだとおもいました。案内看板も複数あって、勉強になりました。

美しく管理されてる庭園が素敵です。人が少ない時間帯を狙って、庭園を見ながらボーっとするのが好きです。心がおちつきます。館内も展示が行われており、見ごたえがありました。

あれ？こんなだったっけ？というくらい
入園料払ってまで行くような・・・と思ってしまいました。
中では男性がお風呂に入っていました。

鳴子温泉の近くにある小さなスキー場です。鳴子温泉の近くの山道を登った先にあります。スキー場自体はそこまで大きくなく、コースも少ないので、ファミリーとか小さな子供がいる団体向けです。帰りには鳴子温泉に入って帰れるのが魅力です。
