What to do and see in Nottingham, England: The Best Nightlife

April 20, 2022 Deane Carmody

This town in the very center of England is perhaps best known for its association with the legend of Robin Hood. The men in tights are long gone, though—today, you’ll find a modern city with a fantastic playhouse, ice hockey arena, and many, many shops and clubs.

This is a lovely old pub set in a cave, the food is surprisingly delicious and has a lovely range of drinks! I highly recommend visiting this pub if you have the chance, despite the fact it is touristy and can get quite busy.

I recommend this to anyone in Nottingham. This is certainly the best shisha parlor in town and probably the one which has the best mixes.. their shakes are also a must try and the staff is very friendly and helpful in suggesting some great flavors..!

Trent Navigation Inn

Welcome to the Trent Navigation on Meadow Lane. This outstanding Victorian pub once fed, watered and housed the men and horses working the Nottingham Canal and throughout the years has at times been much loved or closed and neglected. It has now part of the Great Northern Inns group joining The Cross Keys, The Approach, The Southbank, Copper and The Ned Ludd in providing fine food and drink with live music and sport to all. We stock 13 cask ales including our own Navigation Ales and serve a British based menu served every day. Music is free 3 Nights a week with an eclectic policy incorporating blues, folk, Irish, rock, indie, ska and much more. Live sport is shown in HD on four 42" screens.

Today me and my friend were searching high and low for a premium hot chocolate within the Nottingham area late in the evening. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances such as pudding pantry closing early we were deprived of this luxury! BUT... then we stumbled across Lady Bay Pub. You are our saviours! To the kind ladies at the bar who managed to invent us our premium dreamy previously desired hot chocolate despite their menu only offering a regular hot chocolate... you are legends xoxo gossip girl

The Newshouse

Although built in the 1950s, the Newshouse occupies a site which was first licensed a century earlier. It was operated latterly by Home Ales and then Mansfield Brewery before being acquired by Castle Rock in 2002. The Newshouse is now the Totally Brewed brewery tap and once again we are proud to be featured in the Good Beer Guide 2017. Within walking distance of both football grounds, Nottingham train station and the Capital FM Arena, the pub is ideally located for sporting events and concerts. The Newhouse has a traditional set up of two rooms with a central bar. Sports are shown on the big screen and bar games including darts and bar billiards are popular.
