We booked Aqua Chimp and it was fabulous. Really easy getting wetsuit and life jacket etc, changing rooms were nice and clean and plenty of lockers. The 2 instructors who gave us our safety briefing were informative and helpful on the equipment. Was really fun and some of it is harder than it looks! We had a really good afternoon! Thank you

Lion Salt Works

The Lion Salt Works is a restored historic open-pan salt making site, in the village of Marston, close to Northwich. The site lies adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal, close to Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse, and the historic Anderton Boat Lift. This £10.23 million project opened in June 2015 offering a fascinating journey through the life of the country's last open-pan salt making site. When exploring the site and its restored buildings, you will discover how the salt works operated and the impact of salt on mid-Cheshire's people, economy and landscape.

This attraction boasts a modern cafe/shop/ticket office. It contrasts nicely with the former working area, parts have been restored to show how the work took place. There are other parts that show the state of the place before restoration took place. There are interactive displays that show how salt was produced on the site. The history of salt in the area is told from before Roman times to modern days. The flooring can be uneven, so care is needed. The cafe is also worth a visit
