Did a series of evening classes with my wife and friends, learning how to make leaded glass panels. Right from the start Mike and Jenny made us feel welcome. They explained each stage of the process and all the new skills needed simply with demonstrations of what to do, and what not to do! They helped when we got it wrong and we all came away with a nice piece to display. They made it fun all the way, supplied all the tools and materials plus tea and biscuits. What more could you ask?

A real Aladdin’s cave with a eclectic range and always something interesting to look at on St Giles’ Street, one of the best streets to shop at in town. I’ve bought a variety of items, ranging from a re-upholstered armchair to local fridge magnets. A warm welcome and a maze of rooms make this a unique and intriguing place to visit. Definitely not to be missed!

Visited yesterday and were greatly impressed, it really is an Aladdin's cave as they describe it. It is lots of things under one roof, old Victorian buildings which add to the charm, but not good for those lacking in mobility. On the ground floor is a busy café, (advisable to book a table), a display of dolls houses with items to buy, an area for Rupert Bear memorabilia, handicrafts, toys, books, an area for children to play, a chemist shop and lots of lovely things to buy! Upstairs is the star of the show (chair lift available if required as stairs fairly steep), many different areas showcasing Royalty in Northamptonshire, the history of shoe making (currently an exhibition showing the history of Kinky Boots - really good), displays of cameras, various items used by chemists, and the history of Jeyes. There is so much more to see and read about all I can say is please visit, it is free, and you won't be disappointed.
