I love to write a really positive review!

I stayed here over the Jubilee weekend while working at Crick Boat Show, and it was pretty much all good. My room was comfy and quiet (except for the wedding party on Saturday night (congratulations, btw!) which went on til the early hours with music which could be heard from my room on the other side of the central garden), the breakfast was excellent (being a French chain, Mercure knows to do good croissants), and the staff were friendly, helpful, and actually as funny as they thought they were! (Ashley in particular was great - thank you for your good-humoured help!) The only criticism I could offer was the instant 'coffee' in my room, which might as well have been hot water for all the smell and taste it had, but the coffee at breakfast was more than decent so it really didn't matter. I love being able to write reviews like this!

I have stayed here a number of times when away on business. The staff are always very helpful and the rooms very nice. Parking is either at the rear or at the NCP Car Park two minutes away. Very easy to get into the town centre if required.

Kettering Park Hotel & Spa

A perfect location to explore the great houses and gardens of Northamptonshire, with a pair of boxing hares at the entrance to greet you as a nod to more than a little English eccentricity. Inside you’ll find huge fireplaces with roaring log fires in the winter, and in the warmer months soak up the sun on the sheltered al fresco terrace and pretty garden. Celebrate the Best of British with a traditional afternoon tea or tuck into a Sunday roast carved at your table with all the trimmings in the AA rosette restaurant. The spa has a fabulous 13m pool, treatment rooms, gym and activity studio. Part of The House of Daniel Thwaites collection.

Really enjoyable stay

We stayed here for one night for our 3 year wedding anniversary just as a little getaway. We had our 18 month old daughter with us and had a really nice break. The spa is particularly nice - it has a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and is a very relaxing environment. Breakfast was fantastic and this hotel is also near to a number of restaurants. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and Wicksteed Park is not too far which has plenty to offer for a great day out!

Hopping Hare

When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

Two night stay with really excellent food

A handsome building in a suburban location - this is not a country pub. But that is only carping. The welcome was warm, the staff were agreeable and very professional. They went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The cooking was really excellent: we dined twice and had great meals. There is an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and it shows.

Good value bed & breakfast in traditional pub with car park

Reviewed By Ricardodesantaalbana

Traditional pub with good value bed & breakfast, slightly wonky but fairly comfortable rooms (the bed was quite hard, ok for me) and plenty to choose from for cooked brekkie which runs until 11 though fruit/cereal counter was cleared away by 10. Plenty of parking at back of pub though was quite busy Sunday afternoon/Monday morning.

Geniunely I have never been to a less accommodating place. and Bettee off in a Premier Inn or even, shockingly, Travelodge. To begin with they have only 2 small elevators that barely fit a wheelchair and take an eon to use and move due to the card system. It is also shared with staff. The rooms are ridiculously small even after specifically requesting a large disabled room, we were given a small that barely fit two people let alone our luggage and so on. The bathroom on surface level was amazing and accessible, however there was hair left in the drain from previous guests, the sink was clogged and so the small basin would fill up fast. When using the step free shower, the curtain is pointless because the water spills out to the rest of the bathroom, essentially flooding it, therefore making it unsafe to use. Staff were incredibly blaze and unhelpful, except the cleaner she was amazing, despite the fact I was getting ready for an event and had a disabled sister, we weren't allowed to take food, that we paid for, away, which mean I could not eat. They continued to be unhelpful with any requests aeound and during the wedding. Truly one of the worst hotels ive been in.

Clean and Comfortable Base

On a business trip and this place was clean, comfortable and centrally located. My room was spacious and excellent value at £55. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. Word of warning - I was driving and the Northampton one way system is insane. You would not be able to park a car anywhere by the hotel. I gave up in the end and just parked in the first city central long stay I could find and then walked to the hotel. On the other hand, parking is super cheap - just £4 to leave my car over night.

Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa

Steeped in tradition and history, Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire is a beautiful country house hotel surrounded by formal gardens and parkland landscaped by Capability Brown in the 1760s. It was a home built for entertaining: Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and other monarchs all enjoyed its fine hospitality, and that tradition continues to this day. The hotel has been awarded 4 AA red stars and 2 Rosettes for its Cedar Restaurant, which offers a host of treats, not least of which is afternoon tea, a much loved tradition within our walls. A Perfect Country Retreat

Reviewed By Leeder47

Booked a weekend away ‘Romantic Retreat’ for our wedding anniversary. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the gardens. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a special country break, with all the convenience of being in the middle of the country and only a short distance off the M1. The buildings have all been recently renovated, together with the new spa. All the new buildings blend imperceptibly with the old. The staff were all very friendly and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We had a beautiful afternoon tea in the great hall which can be highly recommended. They offer a variety of options, including a savoury version. The traditional gluten free tea was excellent. The gluten free scones were the best we have had. The evening finished off beautifully with a five course tasting menu of Michelin star quality, with an excellent choice of matching wines. Coffee in the great hall by the open fire was an added bonus. Our magnificent room suited a private breakfast that was well presented. Our stay culminated in a relaxing visit to the new Spa. The facilities are excellent, intimate and very well appointed, with a courtyard pool and all of three different saunas. The treatment choices were also excellent and well priced. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
