What to do and see in North York, Canada: The Best Nature & Parks

November 9, 2021 Claudia Navarrete

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Nice piece of nature in the middle of the city. There is a ravine with trails for walking/biking and it's popular spot for wedding photos.

Really like this place. I like to park at Edwards garden and take the great trail that runs near the stream over to the park. Then we walk all the way up to the end where the stables used to be before the fire. One thing to note is that they paved the path. While it's easier for strollers they also allow bikes who seem to go too fast and weeve in and out. Still a great place to go get some exercise.

I just visited the Toronto Botanical Garden with my husband, it was a beautiful and relaxing experience, I loved the large variety of plants they have and how well maintained the plants and facilities are. They also have a cafe inside where to my surprise they sell a great variety of gluten free, vegan and processed sugar free desserts/bakes, like Nanaimo bars, ginger cookies, cream sandwich cookies, cup cakes, chocolate fudge cake etc. We were informed by the nice lady serving us that they bake all the allergy friendly items in a separate kitchen to avoid cross contamination which makes this cafe ideal for those who have food allergies ( like celiac desease ) or food intolerances. I was very happy because I have a lot of dietary restrictions due to food intolerances and this cafe has all these delicious goodies available for visitors! They even have a vegetarian burger available with a gluten free bun as well ! for sure a place to visit :). Parking price is very reasonable $ 2.50/hr. They also have an exhibition room where they provide information about the pieces of art displayed across the garden. Also there’re is a small gift shop inside. I’d love to be back it was a great scenic walk !
