Greater Napanee is a town in Southeastern Ontario, Canada, approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) west of Kingston and the county seat of Lennox and Addington County. It is located on the eastern end of the Bay of Quinte. Greater Napanee municipality was created by amalgamating the old Town of Napanee with the townships of Adolphustown, North and South Fredericksburgh, and Richmond in 1999. Greater Napanee is co-extensive with the original Lennox County.

The County Museum and Archives provides insights into everyday life from the late eighteenth through the twentieth century and focuses particularly on telling the story of Lennox and Addington County. The story of the settlement and historical development of the County of Lennox and Addington is highlighted in themed exhibits. A series of monthly programs complement the exhibits and curriculum-based educational programs and extension presentations are offered for school classes. The Archives holds a significant paper collection documenting the ongoing historical settlement and development of the County from its initial settlement by Loyalist exiles at the end of the 18th century. A modern Reading room equipped with computer access ports at the Reading room tables and digital reader printers offers researchers a wealth of primary, microfilm and published sources for genealogical research. In addition, finding aids to B/M/D in local newspapers and Cemeteries and research files are available.

I attended an Author's Reading by Maureen Jennings at the Museum on the weekend. It was such a lovely, welcoming space for this event. It was also very suitable, since many of Ms. Jennings books (Murdoch Mysteries, etc) are historical novels. All around, it was a great place for an event.

I found this little gem to be perfect. We were here for the geocaching event. They had lots of space and a splash pad for the kids. Plenty of shade. A dock, where the mister went fishing and a food truck for lunch, snacks and drinks. There is washrooms and parking available and really nice pavillions. Great place to picnic and spend some time.

Napanee Golf and Country Club is the 2nd. oldest nine hole Golf Club in Canada and has been in existence since 1897. We recently hosted a tournament at this course to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. Visiting golfers came from as far away Ottawa Ontario and were surprised at how great the course was. It is very well maintained and can present a challenge even for the best of golfers. The Club provided our supper which was B.B.Q. strip loin steaks with the usual accompaniments and the meal was absolutely delicious. Everyone was very pleased with the entire day and we are planning next yea's event at present time. If you are in the area and have time for round of golf come check it out. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

This was a well spent few hours learning more about the history of the piano. The tour is quite thorough.. we had planned on an hour but it was closer to three hours. The guide is quite well informed with his experience as a piano tuner. There are plenty of pianos to view. It offers an interesting history lesson and lots to talk about afterward!
