It all begun with a passion for gin and a dream evolving to gin crafting. A journey that took me to places and gin distilleries all around the world in my thirst for knowledge and my search for ginspiration. When me and my wife bought an 1800-century farm in Dala, situated in the The High Coast of Sweden, and I started to create truly organic, artisan gin inspired by the natural beauty of the region, magic begun to happen. Today Herno Gin is the most awarded gin I Europe 2013–2019, crowned World's Best Gin 2017 and 2018, World's Best Matured Gin 2019 and also Best Gin in Asia 2018. Mackmyra – Explorers in whisky. The Swedish original since 1999. We had a dream. To create the first Swedish malt whisky. We chose our own way and developed it from scratch. The road was neither the easiest nor the fastest. But it was the right one, we reached our goal. A Swedish malt whisky with its own identity. In our 35 meter high distillery, we have traceability right down to the individual grain fields, and furthermore space to continue looking beyond the traditional. The storage of the small handmade casks is an example. Another is the Swedish oak who so generously share its character to the whisky. In Mackmyra Whisky Village, just outside Gavle, you will find our distillery, forest warehouse, and visitor center with restaurant. High Coast Distillery is a malt whisky distillery in the High Coast area of Sweden by the beautiful river of Ångermanälven. During the summer we have open all day and a restaurant at the visitor center. Guided tours several times a day. At low season we have open Tuesday to Saturday. You are always welcome to contact us for booking your own visit all year round.
