Magnificent city icon and the thought it was designed to contain water for the inhabitants nearby seems like an architectural extravagance. At first sighting, we thought it was a fortress overlooking the Atlantic ocean and overseeing maritime activity. Nope, just a colossal water tank.

Cerveceria Antares

As English speakers ....we were lucky enough to have just the two of us on our winery tour. Santiago was the perfect host; informative, humorous and helpful to the extent that he reccomended and then booked our dinner reservation back in Mar del Plata as well. This small almost boutique winery produces some excellent varietals and is well worth the trip out from Mar del Plata.

I love this beach & always like to spend time there because fewer people come, specially in November. it's before the start of the summer season but the week end I was there the sun was out & was able to rent a cabana for the day. There are restaurants in most of this places so it was a very satisfactory day. You need a car to get to it!!

Along with the Tower Tank the Torreón are the most beautiful landmarks of Mar del Plata. Impressive work of restoration of a monument that was almost destroyed. The restaurant is really good and we had one of the best rabas that we've eaten during this trip. The fish and chips is also very good, unfortunately here in Argentina they don't serve it with a tartar sauce. You should not miss to visit the Torreón if you're visiting Mar del Plata!

My family and I spend there a whole day. It's a wonderful place to go with the family, specially with kids, because we could see the sea lions sleeping along the port. My son was astonished! We enjoyed a trip by catamaran and took a lot of photos of the seashore! Then we had a wonderful meal at a seafood restaurant where we ate a delicious paella. The view of the sea at the afternoon was gorgeous, the water turns into orange due to the sunset and it is one of the most incredible views of this place.

Beautiful beach located near downtown Mar del Plata. Not as crowded as Playa Bristol but still hard to find a space to sit during the high season. If you want to have more space and privacy it's recommended to rent a tent or a beach umbrella at the private Balneario Bahia Varese beach club.
