We walked up Yao mountain (it's all paved) and caught the cable car down to the bottom. The views are spectacular when you get to the top. There are Waterfalls, which I'm told and certain times of year are spectacular, though they looked pretty good to us. Also there are lots of places to stop on the way up, for a picnic or rest. Very civilised!

My husband stumbled upon this on the Internet and made it his Mission to go there on our trip to China. I wasn't overly enthusiastic as it involved a 17 hour train trip to Pingdinshan and a 2 hour drive out there.
We made it out there and it was the most amazing sight ever. Nothing can prepare you for the scale and amazing sight until you get there and see it for yourself.
We were the only tourists there and just about all our shots had just us in them. Our guide managed to get us up to the platform so we could stand beside the toe to get even more if a feel for the scale of it.
After the climb to the top my calves still hurt but it was well worth the pain.
When we booked we were told that the train from Shanghai was the only option. After we got to pingdingshan we learnt that we could have flown into Xhengzhou which is a three hour car ride to the temple.
Our guide was called Jack and he was assigned to us through Intrepid and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
My recommendation is to go to this amazing temple and see it for yourself as you won't be disappointed.

景区大门口的景色给人眼前一亮的感觉。整个景区是沿一个沟谷而建，步行往里走，景色逐渐显现。流水、奇石、草木，代表了此地的景致。一块名为好运石的石头很快展现在我们眼前，故景区因此得名。天下着蒙蒙细雨，游人不多，景区很安静，带着孩子花了不到4个小时便走个来回。景区有待进一步开发、完善，提高知名度。农家宾馆很实惠，饭菜、住宿条件等不错。
