Nice a man made city lake. It's ideal to walk or run around but it's not more then that because the city and the road is always close.

Liaocheng Jiangbei Watertown

Reviewed By amarilloannie - Provo, Utah

We drove about 2 hours from Shanghai to visit the Liaocheng Watertown. We found a unique village build on canals and housing unusual Chinese arts and crafts. It is a tourist destination, but, because the day was overcast with showers, the crowds were not excessive. We walked beside the water, decided against a boat tour, and sampled various teas, fruit, green and black, from the several tea shops. This village is trying to retain ancient crafts and there are hundreds of little shops. We watched artisans carving combs and other things from horn, spinning, dying and weaving textiles, pottery artists, embroidery experts, calligraphy and painting artists, dumplings and BBQ pigs feet (for which this village is noted) and delicious food were available everywhere. There are small hotels in the village which would appeal to couples of families who want peace and quiet.

Some floating tents, mini cranes for kids to use. Very small amount of man made beach. Some snacks. For a family of young kids it would be fun. Not sure if suitable for others. Stay late for lake views with pretty lights
