I enjoyed watching the demonstration of blowing a flat vase with a floral pattern. But I didn't need much explanation since I'm a glass blower. The narration was totally in Dutch, so don't expect to learn much unless you are already familiar with the basics of glassblowing. There's a reasonably priced shop and a cafe on the canal. Definitely a nice way to to spend a hour or two. Don't forget to walk downtown to see some of the excellent glass galleries, particularly Gallery Broft which has some of the best glass casting and coldworking I've seen anywhere.

The most interesting part of this museum is the open depot, which offers you insight in the development of glass (art) products in the 20th century, especially by showing products designed by the the artist Andries Copier, a great name in this field of expertise. The museum is rather small and if you are not in the area, I'm not quite sure you should put a lot of effort in getting there just to visit this museum. It would be wise to check out other places in the Leerdam area as well, if you decide to visit this town. The museum offers arrangements to facilitate combines visits. By the way, the museum offers possibilities for kids as well and it has a small café and, of course, a museum shop.

This shop in the center of Leerdam, has beatyfull glasswork.
It's difficult to choose a present for someone without buying a present for your own collection.
I could'nt only buy a present and left the shop with beatyfull glasswork for me too!
The couple in this shop is very polite and willing to inform you.
Really a good shop to visit !!

Wij hadden de pech, dat er een gezelschap aan boord was, die het tot een sport rekenden om elkaar te overschreeuwen. OORVERDOVEND.. Diverse keren met verschillende mensen iets gezegd tegen die mensen en tegen het personeel, niets hielp. Een man werd gewoon uitgelachen. Het lijkt me een kleine moeite om zoiets te vragen via de microfoon om iets zachter te praten, en rekening met elkaar te houden, daar er niets van de informatie te verstaan was.
Personeel was heel aardig.

Aan de Kerkstraat (t.o.de Hema) ligt het Hofje van Mevrouw van Aerden. Woensdag en zaterdagmiddag is er een rondleiding ( € 6). Je krijgt een uitleg over het ontstaan van het hofje. Je zien de binnen en buitentuin. Daarnaast kan je een woninkje van binnen bekijken en de regentenkamer. In de buitentuin zie je ook nog stukken van het vroegere kasteel Leerdam en je heb een mooi uitzicht over de Linge.

We chartered a Yacht from Huibers Last summer and had a great experience. Everything was well coordinated and organised in advance.
We requested bicycles which were delivered in the day of departure. Safe parking for our car while we were away was offered.
A very nice and comfortable boat with all the comforts.
All up to date water maps were supplied.
Will definitely recommend to others.

Regelmatig bezoeken wij deze galerij. Elke keer weer genieten van een gevarieerde collectie van glaskunst, maar ook wandobjecten van verschillende materialen en vormen. Vriendelijke ontvangst en uitleg over de wijze van het proces van het tot stand komen van de objecten. Beslist een aanrader om heen te gaan

Op een zaterdagmiddag bij Aquazoo geweest met ons gezin met twee kids van 4 en 7. Aquazoo zit op een onverwachte locatie, in de kelder van een zorgcentrum. Grote verscheidenheid aan aquaria met korte uitleg. Geen grote aquaria, verwacht ook geen hele grote imposante vissen. Toegang €20 voor het gezin. Je kunt er een uur of anderhalf verpozen. Oudere Kids kunnen speurtocht doen.
