My wife & I had evening meals here on two occasions and both were excellent.
The first was their Surprise Menu which was excellent in both taste, originality, and was fully satisfying without feeling overdone.
The second, a Special Menu, was in my opinion to all intents and purposes, a gourmet meal of many courses, each most appetising and delicious. It was offered on a 4 for 2 basis and so we were able to treat our daughter and son-in-law, who also found it absolutely first class!
The service, including the attention of the owner-wife of the establishment, was really good.
Recommended without reserve!!

Famous for their unlimited spare ribs. Spare ribs is definitely the best thing on their menu.

Delicious vegetarian dishes, accompanied with salted- and mango lassi. Nice and subtle spicing. They are also very flexible (for example, minor changes in the menu). Everything is prepared fresh so it will take a while before it is served. Very friendly lady serving us.

opted for the Malaysian menu but it was more Chinese than the Malaysian I am used to. The curry was a bit tame! The set menu was good value and the restaurant was very busy, did not need to book and right opposite La Stancia where we ate the night before.

We went ti this Chinese Restaurant today with our friends who live nearby. I can honestly say that I have never been to a Chinese Restaurant like this one. The rich decor instantly appealed, the extremely happy and kind reception staff made us feel so welcome . Then we discovered that even though we paid a fixed price for a smogasboard, it entitled us to :- select anything we chose, even to having steaks including kangaroo, prawns, different fish etc all cooked especially for you. The range of different nations dishes was amazing and the Deserts were to die for. The wait staff were diligent and always happy........I want to recommend this restaurant to everyone!

I visited the restaurant with business colleagues and the restaurant was busy for a Tuesday night. We enjoyed the food, but the kitchen was overstretched and therefore the service slow. Main course size was generous, so unless you are hungry, maybe skip the starter.

Lekker laagdrempelig genieten van fantastisch lekker eten. Steeds meer mensen gaan dit plekje ontdekken in de "dorpskroeg" in Schoonrewoerd. Tot nu toe nog steeds de beste biefstuk ooit.

Over the past year, my wife and I have been true visitors of Grand Athína. The restaurant is housed in the building of Leerdam's railway station that, in this way, has adopted a new function - which is highly popular with Leerdam's inhabitants, given the large numbers of visitors. Ever since our first visit, the restaurant works with the concept "3-course Greek dinner for 20 Euros". The food is always very good, though slightly adapted to Dutch taste (the very hungry may have, as an extra appetizer, chunks of fresh bread with a variety of sauces for dipping). Service - often by the owner and his wife - is invariably friendly and correct. A must-do!
