January 28, 2022 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Lazio (UK: /ˈlætsioʊ/, US: /ˈlɑːtsioʊ/; Italian: [ˈlatsjo]; Latin: Latium) is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy. Situated in the central peninsular section of the country, it has almost 5.9 million inhabitants – making it the second most populated region of Italy (after Lombardy and just a little ahead of Campania) – and its GDP of more than 170 billion euros per annum means that it has the nation's second largest regional economy. The capital of Lazio is Rome, which is also Italy's capital and the country's largest city.

Dear guests, this is one of the most requested tours, and it is conducted by an English speaking driver who is also a certified tourist guide of Rome (as well as a Vaticanist). It's an amazing tour among the hundreds of fountains, sloping terraces, and hanging gardens of Villa d 'Este, and outstanding remains of buildings characterized by an articulated sequence of spaces where very different architectural elements were daringly placed each other and which included plays of water about Hadrian's villa.

Inclusions: Bottled water, Air-conditioned vehicle, Private transportation, WiFi on board, Tickets for Villa d' Este and Hadrian' s Villa

Serena was super helpful when we were planning the trip: she gave us lot's of great tips for places to eat and for other museums or sights to visit on our own time. We highly recommend her

Stepping out onto the dusted floor of the Colosseum in the twinkling Roman moonlight is an experience few forget. And it’s an experience few have - because our exclusive after-hours Colosseum by Night tour is one of Rome’s most premium not accessible to the general public. We’ll beat the heat, crowds, hustle and bustle, and explore the city's most-famous landmark in the beauty and desertion of darkness. Plus, we’ll get priority access to two normally-restricted areas: The Arena Floor and the Underground.

Relive a piece of ancient Rome history, immersing yourself in this unique archaeological site on an unforgettable tour. The tour allows you to visit in depth a good part of this extraordinary archaeological site that covers about 50 hectares, in which ancient ruins and nature merge to create suggestive landscapes. Founded according to tradition by King Anco Marzio in a strategic area from the military and commercial point of view, Ostia was the first Roman colony, port of the city of Rome at the mouth of the Tiber river. Along the way you will be able to observe the grandiose theater dating back to the Augustan era, the Baths of Neptune and its mythological mosaics, the remains of the imposing Capitolium that towers over the Piazza del Foro and the famous insulae and tabernae. A unique archaeological site in the world where it is really possible to relive the daily life of the ancient Romans in a chronological span of 8 centuries.

We booked this private family guided tour of the site of Ostia Antica for the third day of our 4-day visit to Rome. My husband and I and our four children thoroughly enjoyed the very interesting tour by Stefania (a highly experienced tour guide with a phd in history and a vast, impressive knowledge in the field). Not only did she provide fascinating information to my husband and myself, but she made the tour fun and interactive for the children (aged between 14 and 9). The site of Ostia Antica is absolutely incredible, providing a good insight into daily life of a Roman city in the old times. Having an experienced and articulate guide like Stefania makes all the difference and is a worthwhile spend to got the most out of the visit. Stefania happily overextended the 1,5 hour tour time to provide us with some extra insights and information. Take the train from Porta San Paolo in Rome, the journey is a mere 1,50 euros and lasts about 25-30 minutes. The site is also excellent to beat the crowds (even in non-covid days) as it is all open air and fringed with beautiful big old trees. We caught the train again at Ostia Antica and continued onto the beachside to have an excellent lunch.

The tour was canceled, and we were rescheduled to go afternoon. We specifically paid that amount for a tour that available before the public arrives to the museum. The group was more than 10 people, there were some crowds in some areas with other groups and other guides talking around. Our tour guide was great, however, we have not received what we booked, it was not private, and it was not 3 hours as it described in a tour.

We always enjoy being back in Rome and this time we decided to take a driving tour as we had just a couple of days and wanted to see all the cities without walking miles around the city. The staff speaks great English and it was amazing just to enjoy the ride and the views with an a/c as it's really hot in Rome! I've seen the brochure with all the tours this company provides, and next time in Rome we'll definitely book the Colosseum express, which is great as it only takes 1,5 hours while most of the tours cover the whole area, which takes like 3 hours and it's crazy considering the heat.

Traveling in small groups will make your historic Rome walking tour relaxed and intimate. During the tour, our guides will forget about dates and figures, focusing instead on the stories and anecdotes behind the sites you visit – because we know that it's these funny (and often shocking) tales that make Rome so special. Our evening stroll isn’t just about the sights though – it’s about giving you everything you need to enjoy a perfect vacation in Rome. We will explore together Galleria Sciarra, a hidden treasure in Rome. The passage is not only difficult to see from the outside, but it is also one of the few places where you can see Art Nouveau in Rome! This is an absolutely beautiful piece of architecture. This hidden gem is located in a building near Via del Corso, constructed just after the unification of Italy in the late 1880s. In the evening, the galleria is illuminated with a warm and magical glow, making you feel like you have been transported into a different era.
