Trough of Bowland

Please keep this stunning part of England a secret. It is the most gorgeous place - small villages and rolling countryside in one instance then broody hills and windy fella the next.

Sambo's Grave

Reviewed By DebraG_12 - Ibstock, United Kingdom

After a ride down the tidal road, Sunderland Point we walked to pay our respects to a young boy who was taken as a slave from the west indies back in 1736 ish, sadly the poor boy was unable to speak our language and it is thought that he died from a disease to which he had no immunity, he was buried without a coffin or bier in the clothes he passed away in. It was a sad and emotional time however we were glad to have been.

The Stone Jetty

Reviewed By Maureen1937 - Barnstaple, United Kingdom

The stone jetty makes for a lovely, gentle stroll out into Morecambe bay with a pleasant, friendly cafe at the end for a welcome drink. The Tern project with sculptures of birds, fun hopscotch for the children, giant stone eggs and amusing sayings carved into stone continue along the full length of the jetty. The end of the jetty is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset. We were fortunate to visit in glorious weather but it would be exhilarating to visit in damp, windy conditions.

Saint Patrick’s Chapel

We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny Saturday morning when we pretty much had the chapel and coast to ourselves. Such stunning views towards the Lake District.

Venus and Cupid Sculpture

Reviewed By brianhF3255QD

When you arrive in Morecambe from Cumbria this sculpture tells you you have arrived. Stunning Morecambe Bay in the background and there is a plaque on the rocks telling you which birds to look out for. A snack and a drink from the cabin, or maybe a picnic. Happy Mount Park nearby with its formal gardens, even adventure play area for the children and importantly public toilets. True Quality and it fits your budget. True Quality
