Burnley Golf Club

Burnley Golf Club Course was designed by James Braid and is laid out on open moorland. The water courses and terrain give the 18 holes great variety and sporting character, all of which give strong appeal to golfers of all standards. The Clubhouse provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a modern, relaxing setting, with magnificent views over the course. Sam, the Burnley Golf Club Professional, and Christine and Tony, our resident Bar Manager and Chef, will ensure you receive a warm welcome whether you are a golfer visiting to play our wonderful course or a visitor for one of many of the events that take place at the Club.

Burnley golf course is in great condition and a pleasure to play all year round. I feel sorry for all the local courses who are having to cope with all the mud and boggy ground. Nothing like that at Glen View-it drains so well and is in excellent condition, especially the green, which in my opinion are second to none.

Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club

The most famous course in the area has hosted the British Open 3 times in the last 30 years.

There is so much golf history at this wonderful club. One of the 3 Royals on the English Golf Coast around Liverpool/Blackpool and quite different from Hoylake and Birkdale. 200+ bunkers throughout the course and 17 of them on the 18th. Lytham is a seriously good golf course and one where you have to place the ball strategically to score well. Like so many of the courses on the Open rota, online bookings are easy and you are made very welcome by house staff and the pro shop. As an Aussie, you think about Adam Scott throwing away the Open at Lytham in the last 4 holes in 2012 and Seve's 2 wins in 1979 and 1988. Just a fabulous golfing experience on a links course where every hole is a gem.

Fairhaven Golf Club

Reviewed By 429CatherineB

Fairhaven Golf Club is renowned as one of the finest Championship courses in the North of England and 20 ladies from our Club in East Lancashire took advantage of playing this beautifully manicured course during a Ladies Open Team event. There are 365 bunkers on this course, one for every day of the year, and our team found plenty of them. I found the breakfast service very slow and my meal arrived it was a wrong order. Disappointing, particularly as it was so late, it had to be wrapped in foil to take on the course to be eaten during the game. I did wonder the girl serving me might be new to the post, so perhaps need to be more generous. The evening meal was very good and an excellent day was had by all. I would highly recommend a visit to this great course.
