Based in Lairg in East Sutherland, in the Scottish highlands, we are a small, family business running canoe trips down the Kyle of Sutherland and in other Scottish Highland locations. We choose off the beaten track locations for our adventures. These are scenic, rarely visited and generally well suited to those without previous paddling experience and provide a real sense of adventure.The trips are ideal for the beginner or anyone looking for a slow adventure rich in wildlife, scenery and history. We operate out of Invergordon and Lairg , delivering our excursions to the cruise ships that dock here and to the many holiday makers staying in East Sutherland and Easter Ross. Food plays an important part in all our trips. For our day long trips and cruise ship trips we supply a home made picnic with home baked sour dough bread, home grown salad plus locally produced smoked fish, meats and cheeses as well as home made cakes and biscuits.

We finished the Cape Wrath Trail and really enjoyed seeing Cape Wrath in the evening when all the tour buses had gone home. We had a nice filling evening meal and loved the newly renovated bunkhouse

The Highland Shooting Centre is a unique facility in the North Highlands that provides both novices and experienced shots a suberb shooting experience. The owner Marcus, is an ex Gamekeeper and his father was a Gamekeeper, so clients can be assured of the most professional tuition and guidance in all matters shooting - both for Rifle and for Shotgun. There are few places like this in the UK. The amazing indoor 100 metre indoor range provides one on one tuition in rifle marksmanship and the outdoor area gives shooters an opportunity to engage targets at much longer ranges. The clay pigeon shooting provides a range of difficulty to meet all levels of shotgun shooting experience, from novice to professional. As a Manager in the hotel sector in the Highlands, I go out of my way to encourage guests to experience the Highland Shooting Centre.

A wonderful area to visit. The scenery is stunning and there is so much to look at. The viewpoint allows some wonderful photo opportunities. Ardvreck Castle is a nice stop off point. You can fish (permit required) which I believe you can buy at Lochinver. Well worth a visit!

Stoer Lighthouse is a fully furnished Self Catering Lighthouse located on Stoer Head, north of Lochinver in Sutherland, North West Scotland. The Lighthouse itself dates from the 1870's, has been recently refurbished to a high standard, and is now comprised of two flats each with 2 twin bedrooms, well appointed kitchen, bathroom and lounge.

It was quiet when we came and that was a blessing in it's self such an amazing place and panorama wow. Watch the decptive cliff edges and it will send the odd person wobbliekneed . But wonderfull definitley looking at renting one of the lighthouse flats wow

We visited the geopark twice and enjoyed the visitor centre and walks at Knockan Crag. The information is well put together and the walks well marked and sensibly graded.

Nice little visitor centre with informative displays in several rooms and a nice little cafe. We stopped en route while looking for toilets in Lairg. We found pleasant staff and loads of information crammed onto the walls. The cafe, while small, serves a great quality of food. They also offer free Wi-Fi which while we didn't use is a great feature.

The Falls of Shin are famous for being one of the best places in Scotland to view salmon in their natural habitat. The former Falls of Shin centre, nicknamed “Harrods of the North” was destroyed by fire in May 2013. This left a huge hole in the local economy and as a leading employer a vast number of jobs were lost overnight. Following this, local charity - Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust, raised project funding to rebuild the popular attraction. The Trust worked with the community, stakeholders, funders and the design team (CH Architecture) to develop the project. Falls of Shin was officially reopened in May 2017 with a day of celebrations for the local community. Since then we have welcomed visitors from around the world and recreated employment opportunities at the visitor centre. The site has a restaurant and gift shop (run by a private operator - Mac & Wild), playpark, mini golf, forest trails, and a viewing platform where people can watch the salmon leaping.

Visited with dear friends while in Scotland on a cruise. They drove from their home in Aberdeenshire to meet us at the port and spend the day just catching up and enjoying much of what nature has to offer. We found the Falls of Shin just the right place... peaceful, beautiful, a great place for family. Noticed too, there is a charging station for electric vehicles! Lovely playground for kids, delicious treats in the small restaurant, perfect for coffee, cappuccino, tea, homemade scones and cakes with great service. Table service inside and out. A small but well stocked gift shop! The restaurant is handicap accessible Definitely would recommend
