January 30, 2022 Agatha Simes

There is rich and beautiful history within Lagos’ 14th century walls, from its fortress to picturesque churches like Medieval São João Hermitage and the 17th-century São Sebastião. But that’s all appetizer. People come here for a main-course coastal buffet featuring more than a half-dozen beautiful beaches. Quiet sandy coves are sandwiched between dramatic cliffs. The sandy 2.5-mile stretch of Meia Praia caters to every water sport imaginable. And when you’ve had your fill, you can digest your day with some of the best nightlife in the Algarve region.

Boat trip is the best way to explore the very beautiful Atlantic coastline in Lagos - very beautiful caves and grottos reflected in transparent emerald water versus terracotta cliffs. Highly recommended as a trip - the guides are very friendly and happy to tell the story of the place

Our favourite beach around Lagos. The sea definitely felt warmer than our closest beach in Luz! We were so happy here after feeling a little cramped on other beaches. So much space, beautiful sand and the opportunity to take a lovely, long walk. Easy to park here too.

We haven´t descended to the beach, just watch it from the top of the "falesia", a great view of the clear water beach and the "falésias" formations on both sides of the beach, Definitely worthwhile seeing it.
