A huge, well designed and cosy parks. If you wish to have a proper walk and enjoy a beautiful view on the Vyatka river, just find some time and go there. It is not too far from the city centre...

Museum of Paleontology

We were on a tour of Kirov, Russia and were recommended by our guide to visit the Museum of Paleontology. It is not big, but it is very interesting with some hands on activities for kids as well as lots of fossils and scientific information. As a science teacher for the US that was visiting half way around the world it was neat to see that museums of our history and origins are pretty much the same world wide. It's really a small world in the end.

Spasskaya Street

Kirov is a pretty hip European City in the middle of Russia. Not many American visit there, but it is quite friendly to them. We loved Spasskaya Street with numerous statues for great pictures and the Chocolate and Ice Cream Museum. Fun gift shops as well. Just fabulous.

Chocolate History Museum "Criollo"

We had limited time at the end of our day of touring in Kirov and our guide recommended picking up delicious chocolates from the Chocolate History Museum. The shop was delightful with a cafe with seats to enjoy coffee and yummy treats. It was a great last stop in our time in the beautiful city of Kirov.

Pond near Diorama

A not that big park with a pond, pleasant to walk around in good sunny weather, you can feed ducks that are almost always there. No swimming, water is not suitable for it. Can also rent a little boat for some romance. The pond is not big but allows to take a couple of nice photos. One of the favourite place among the Kirovites!

Monument Family

The Monument Family is a tribute to the Dymkova Dolls of the Kirov Region. It is such a GREAT monument with differing legends of good fortune depending on where you sit. If you touch the baby you will have many children. Unfortunately I can't remember all the legends, but it is a fun monument to visit.

Vyatka Vasnetsovs' Art Museum

Reviewed By Dennis B - Syktyvkar, Komi, Russia

Theatre Square

Reviewed By lcsmith63 - Yorktown, Indiana

This is the government center and as with every government center that we encountered on our visit this summer there are often monuments to Lenin and evidence of the hammer and sickle. This is an active government building where the governor or Kirov works and so it's not a place you can go inside and tour, but you can view it from the outside. This square is very nice and very busy.

Dendrologic Park

Reviewed By Helghelg -
