We visited here as a tour with a group of friends which is ok, but you spend all day in a van. Better to do it on the bike and make a fun adventurous day of it. Lovely scenery- bring camera of course!

this is cold lake, truly cold, but view is nice, water is clean and this is biggest archive of drinking water around the globe. during summer you can swim here, maybe one month. good place to visit for weekend.

This museum was really really small and if you can't read Russian, there are really few exhibits with English explanations. It was interesting to see a little bit of the history of the island, Lake Baikal and its people, but we were done in half an hour. Still, the entrance fee is really cheap so if you have some time, you may want to pop by for a quick visit. It's very close to the main road in Khuzhir so it's easily walkable if you're staying in Khuzhir. You can even walk to Cape Burkhan from there!

Постоянная экспозиция картин художника Ощепкова и его жены. Это надо видеть, как-будто художник все время подключен к мощному энергетическому источнику — Байкалу. В уютной лавке кроме недорогих сувениров можно купить чай саган-дайля (бурятское название растения, известного как рододендрон Адамса).

Lovely village to visit especially to learn more about the Buryat people (lesson learnt - never take on a Buryat in an arms wrestling match, especially a drunk one, and if you do, make sure you let them win!!).
