The Kochi Sunday Market is a must if in the area. I altered my plans for a trip just to make sure I would be in Kochi on a Sunday. Prior to going, I read that the market has been going on for hundreds of years. It starts near the castle on a single road that stretches over a kilometer. I started early here, around 7:30 am and spent a couple hours here walking up and down looking at everything the vendors had to offer. For the most part the market was full of fresh produce. But there were other vendors here selling goods like knives, antiques, plants, etc. There were a few food vendors here as well, I tried the tempura sweet potatoes and went back for seconds, they were great! Markets, are a great way to immerse yourself in local cultures and the Kochi Market should not be missed.

An extraordinary morning!! You have to arrive very early but it is well worth it. So many booths selling fresh/frozen fish plus tremendous varieties of different authentic Japanese foods being cooked before your eyes. Go hungry as you will not leave that way. A can't miss experience.

Gotemba is Japan's most popular outlet mall, with 210 stores offering luxury, sports, and international brands. Located at the base of Mt. Fuji, the mall is accessible by train and bus from Tokyo.
Good for those who love to shop. Located in a very scenic location, with Mt. Fuji in the backdrop. For those who are here just to explore or for window shopping, there are a number of eateries which should keep you busy. The food court has a variety of options, really liked the dessert parlor in the food court that serves huge cotton candies or ice cream cones wrapped in a cloud of cotton candy. Even though it is situated a little out of the way from the town center there are free shuttle buses to and fro from Gotemba station which makes it very accessible.

50 minutes by direct express bus from Chubu Centrair International Airport. One of the largest outlet malls in Japan with many shops for luxurious brand products, adjacent to the amusement park and spa facility; 50 minutes at the fastest by bus from Nagoya. ● Stores / 240 stores approx.
There was a huge range of shops and all had a good selection including the big luxury brands. No queues to get in unlike the luxury outlet mall in London (Bicester Village) and it was nice to go around and not crowded. We got the bus from Nagoya station. It was easy to find and straightforward to buy tickets. Gucci had a nice selection of items. They had good the classic large GG belt at a very good price compared to the UK price, also I doubt you would find this in London. You can go to the tourist info centre and pick up the map/info booklet which has a pink box stating if you show it at the counter you can get a voucher booklet. This entitles you to discounts at some stores including Coach and Agnes B. Obviously there aren't vouchers for the luxury brands. There are facilities for families. It seems quite well thought out. I'd definitely go again if I'm in the area.

Just stopped on the way to see the views. Very nice to have a resting point in the middle of the sea.

200+ shops, covering a huge area. Plenty of international brands. If you intend to visit every shop, be prepared to buffer a few more days. Winter operating hours are short, 10am to 7pm only.

This underground mall sprawling accross 590 meters from north to south of downtown Tenjin. Styled in 19th century European with beautiful tinted glass windows, flagstones floors and arabesque design ceiling decorate the whole underground malls creating stylish and comfortable athmosphere. There are couple of cozy sitting corners and meeting points, fancy restroom with different styles and decorations from one to another. It has 12 avenues and more than 150 unique shops of fashions, cosmetics, gourmet, books and many more. Easy access to subway, train and bus station. It’s not just underground shopping place, it’s an interesting place worth a visit offering a shopping experience as a bonus point.

It’s a great place to visit for some “western” style shopping and an excellent little stop in sleepy Sano. Take in the culture of the “town” and get some quality shopping in as well, away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
