We are a family of 3. My teen is 13 yrs old . This is our family's 2nd time visiting Nomad Adventure. 4 days of thrilling fun exploring gopeng on our mountain bikes with guides , Soleh and Najib. Rode our bikes to Ulu Geruntum fall where we had a little picnic , lunch and swim there . After that we headed off road to a limestone quarry . Definitely worth it ! A Gorgeous sight!!
Next day we rode to Ulu Geroh , where we trekked a little bit to view the amazing Rafflesia flower . The orang asli guide taught us a little bit about the orang asli language , culture , flora and fauna in Ulu Geroh. Saw many interesting creatures during our trek , enormous stick insects , centipedes, leeches , the gorgeous Raja Brookes butterfly , frogs etc.....
3rd day we cycled to Lata Kinjang waterfall , a magnificently tall waterfall which can be seen from the highway! Long ride but definitely worth it . Amazing scenery and super fun terrain . Stopped by Chappati corner for lunch and had the most delicious chappati with mutton curry we have ever tasted - SCRUMPTIOUS!
Experiencing Gopeng on bicycles allows us to soak in the atmosphere at our own pace & OH! all the spectacular views! We rode along rivers , across rivers , past Mountains , up Mountains , along kampong roads..... such a memorable and unique experience for us .
Saw pigtail macaques , herds of buffallos , cows , heard gibbons calls early in the morning in the Mountains...... truly , truly a wonderful experience for my family .
Anyone who loves biking and adventure should try it!! So worth it !

Guides Soleh and Najib were professional ,
friendly , knowledgeable and helpful .
Felt comfotable and safe under their guide.

Gua Tempurung

Reviewed By Jodie P

We've always wanted to go explore caves but rarely found anything interesting enough for the view.
We randomly came to Gua Tempurung by also hoping to be able to explore the wet course as well. But since we brought toddler with us, it was forbidden to choose that course since it will require to crawl to pass through small caves.
So we took the dry course and it was already very challenging for us. We had to take hundreds of steep stairs up and down to explore the cave. And the views are awesome! There are 5 different platforms, and it's getting higher and higher to the next platform. The entrance fee was also cheap since we had an expatriate ID card.
Caution: please take extra careful when you are bringing kids, some stairs are steep and can be dangerous for them. Elder people will also have difficulties to reach the second platform to above.

It is an excellent experience in both programmes as the guides had been pdofessional and caring to make sure the guests are well taken care of. We are also very impressed to learn that the owner of the company is very passionate in giving back to society ie volunteering activities for old folks and young kids. Strongly recommend for anyone who wants to have white water rafting experience. You will be in good hands!

Gaharu Tea Valley

Gaharu Tea Valley Gopeng (務邊沉香山茶園). HOGA had a quiet and unofficial inception in 1992. At present, the plantation located within the quaint little town of Gopeng, has 200,000 trees of a special Aquilaria spp (Gaharu Gopeng, Geographical Patent GI2013:00005) and other natural attractions that will leave you mesmerized. The Gaharu tree is listed as an endangered species by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna known as CITES. It is not only organically cultivated here to further prevent its extinction but Gaharu Tea Valley Gopeng is the only plantation with 300 acres of the special hybrid Aquilaria spp trees. Due to its uniqueness, Gaharu Gopeng has been aptly coined as HOGA (Holistic Gaharu). It is indeed holistic in its quality as its benefits can be extracted from every part of the tree. Gaharu, commonly known as Agarwood and also called Eaglewood, Aloeswood, ChenXiang, (沉香), Jin-koh (沈香), or Oud (عود) in different countries, has many beneficial and healing properties. The place itself is not very far from Ipoh town, around 30 minutes drive. If you are looking for a short trip during weekends, this is a good place to go.
There will be a mini van to fetch you to 3 different location to enjoy the view. It's not that spectacular but going with young kids they will enjoy it.
The ride is uphill and downhill but it's safe. The place itself is clean and well organized.
Downside is that the cafe there serve limited food

My Gopeng Resort

Reviewed By Milky99 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I had this whitewater rafting during our company team building event. Wow...I never ever expected this as my company kept it very secretive. Gopeng is not far from Ipoh and we reached there by bus. But the bus could not reach the stop station and we were travelled there by small lorry. We were just like a bunch of livestock behind the lorry and it was damn fun going thru villages and orchard including durian orchard... plenty of them. It was like a roller coaster.
Upon reaching the station, we were grouped into a few and started to wear those safety gear i.e life jacket & helmet. Then, we had a briefing from their team leader on what to do during in the raft and each group was assigned a experienced kayaker. The briefing was intense when he mentioned that someone might fall into river... we were all at awe & worried...
However, we braved ourselves and carried the raft with a 6 member a team. Once at the river, the kayaker taught us a few tips on how to react when encounter certain circumstances. Then, the raft was pushed and went into the river... very exciting... there were a few rough spots which our raft hit the rock, strong fiver flow, hit other raft and we peddled excitedly following the kayaker instruction. At one point, 2 of our member in the raft was thrown into the river once hitting a rock, but we managed to rescue back to them... thanks to the experienced kayaker. Later we also saved another person from another raft that fallen into the river... wow... there was something. Lastly, when almost reaching our destination, our raft was stuck at the rock and cannot move due to too heavy (due to rescuing additional member). So, the kayaker asked one of us to jump into the river to have a body rafting to each the destination, as it will lighten up the raft to make the raft move. So, myself and the other member volunteered jump into river to experienced the body rafting.... wow... I do not know how to swim but with the life jacket, no fears... I just floated according to the river flow.. damn exciting. At one point, my whole body submerged into the water and need to hold breath for about 10 seconds... that's unbelievable...then finally, reaching the spot and our raft also managed to relieve from the stuck spot.
For those that wanted to try... I advise pls go ahead... some of us also over 50 and we can make it... age is not a much issue unless your body is really cannot do it. No fears and I can guarantee for those first timer, you will be blessed with a wonderful experience... this is one of the best moment of all trips...have fun.

Gopeng Heritage House

Reviewed By zhanruiyi - Ipoh, Malaysia

This is another interesting museum to visit and explore the past glory of Gopeng rich tin mining legacy and history. In fact, this place is much better organised than Gopeng Museum, just a stone throw away, although both places belongs to the same organisers and sponsors. Probably, it is the newer setup.
The displays will bring you back to the early 19th century Gopeng tin mining era. It is a good visit for those interested in history, culture and antiquities. Very informative and the antiques are treasures that behold the rich heritage of the foregone era of the earliest tin miners in the then Malaya.
If visiting on a hot day, you can chilled and relax at the back of the museum for a pot of PU ERH tea, iced Cincau drinks, herbal jelly and of course, local coffees.
