Fantastic walk, lots of little bridges to cross over the river, one huge waterfall along the way and then the main waterfall at the end, also climbed up to the skating pond. Lovely walk for all, we went in January but if you went in summer you could take a picnic.

Just a small sign and parking on the left hand side of the road (coming from the south) will tip you on something quite special. Going all the way back to the Iron Age, these foundations will give you a glimpse of how settlers lives 2000-3000 years ago. Well worth a quick stop, just be careful crossing the A9!!

Just to be able to park in the designated parking areas and see harbour seals, numerous birds including curlews, terns, gulls, and cormorants, and an otter is fantastic. It is all so picturesque too. Just sit tight and get the binoculars out. It really is a beautiful place to be with nature. The best time is when the tide is out as all the sandbanks are viewable with the seals on them. The otter was spotted along the shoreline with the sun glistening off the shining body as he traversed the weed and rocks. So lovely to see everything.

A good walk on well laid and signposted trail from the car park. Good footwear and clothing required as even in July it's exposed at the top. Views are amazing.
