What to do and see in Golden Square Mile, Canada: The Best Concerts & Shows

March 22, 2022 Esmeralda Fenner

Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park.

Upstairs Jazz Club

My wife and I had a great dinner and jazz performance by the Fuel Junkies. The food was excellent and plentiful. The music was extraordinary coming from three great sax musicians. Equally entertaining and great musicians were the two guitar players and drummer. I was able to get the last table when I made my reservation for the early show. The table was right in front of the band. The place was packed which is understandable as it is a great venue with excellent jazz performances and reasonably priced food.

We always watch movies at this cinema, because the pulled pork poutine is so amazing so we would sometimes watch a movie just so we can enjoy the poutine. Best cinema in town!
