Came here with my three year old on a saturday. She loved looking at the planes and getting to play in the various different plane cockpits. The ticketed tours of the larger planes are well worth it as well, staff are friendly and informative and for free admission and parking it's well worth a visit.

Gloucester Cathedral offers at least 3 tours (costs range 7-13 GBP) and they are conducted by volunteer locals, so I feel fine paying/contributing. I took the Highlights and the Tower tour total of 30min and 1hr respectively, (couldn't fit the Crypt tour) both done by lively docents who know their Norman vs. Perpendicular architecture and history. book when you enter. You could walk around on your own, but having a local guide you also get more interesting commentary.

Lots of intrigujng wood carvings, fabulous slide and tons of paths to slither around, bushes to hide in and paths to bound about on. The dogs love it too. After rain make sure you are wearing boots as the paths get really muddy and slidey.

Chris was particularly helpful and as Friends of Canal and River Trust gave us a preview of the new second floor exhibits about to be opened. A lot of stories from past boaters etc, but there could be more and perhaps via second floor? Good for all ages and knowledge, with cafe within, although we ran out of time to try the tempting cakes.
