Parque das Aves

The Parque das Aves is an essential tour for visitors of Foz do Iguassu, located near the Cataratas do Iguassu, beside the Iguassu National Park. In the Parque das Aves you will experience a direct contact with more than 1320 birds from about 143 different species. There are 16.5 hectares of lush Atlantic Rainforest maintained to provide the best habitat for our animals. This is a tour like no other. It is an unique and unforgettable experience in which you will find amazing birds. Enter our immersion aviaries to feel the beat of wings from vibrant macaws and look into the eyes of a toucan. There is plenty to feel and enjoy - beauty is everywhere and that is what motivates us every day to work for the preservation of our fauna and flora. We take into our care birds that are no longer in condition to continue living in nature and keep them in an environment where they can live happily. You are an essential part of this project. All you need to do to help preserve it is to enter into the experience with all your senses.

Early into the bird park before the crowds. What a wonderful vision Dennis and Anna Croukamp had to set up this amazing park in the forest for rescued birds. As I am a bird lover, I was delighted to see such a large variety of birds from flamingos to numerous parrots, eagles, king vulture which I had never seen before, and of course the many macaws to the cheeky Toucans. One of my favourites was the red fan parrot, so colourful. It was such a delightful experience to wander through this bird park to see the birds up close. Take your time wandering through the park, you will enjoy it all the more.

Bela Vista Ecological Refuge

The walk through the protection unit, created to preserve the fauna and flora during the formation of the reservoir of the Plant, goes around the Piracema Canal until reaching the buildings of the refuge. At the two kilometers trail in the middle of the native forest, the experience is magnified with learning about the environment.

We got to go on a tour of the Ecological Refuge while we were staying in Foz do Iguazu and it's definitely worth the stop! We had a great tour guide who was very informative and told us about the refuge's work they have done and the interesting biology behind it all. I would definitely suggest making time to see the refuge!
