I'm sorry. We didn't get it! "Interactive " people appear to be living statues. No eye contact and ALL looked bored. No interaction at all. I couldn't recommend this. Too expensive for a walk.

One of my favourite Beaches on the west coast. A long idyllic beach, with close access to shops, restaurants and a fantastic lighthouse as a lookout point. The 'horse' bunkers on the beach are a particular favourite of mine: a little bit of history transformed into beauty.

We made a family get together at the end of April 2016, being 12 adults and three children at the age of 6, 9 and 12 years. Our 24 hours at and around the small island were carefully arranged by the local company, Mandø Event.
Mandø is an island in the Danish part of The Wadden Sea of the west coast of Jutland. Each day, hundreds of square kilometers are covered by the tide. The island is not accessible by high tide, as the seven kilometer wadden road is flooded four hours around the highest water.
We timed our arrival with falling tide and waited for the road to clear. Mandø Event had booked 6 very nice flats at Mandø Bed and Breakfast. In the kitchens we found all necessary drinks and food for the evenings three course dinner and breakfast the following morning. All product were ecologically certified and many of these of local origin. Sparkling wine and chocolate waited us a welcome surprise.
A couple of hours later we found ourselves dressed in waders, and ready for the horse carriage to take us four kilometers out in the sandy wade, ready to collect the oysters. We had bright Sunshine but almost gail force winds,so the waders became very useful on the last walk for the horses to the oyster banks. The oysters are invasive Pacific spicies, and you are most welcome to take all you can carry.
Back at the carriages our host, Benny, from Mandø Event was ready with his sabre to cut the head off more sparkling wine.
Our self prepared evening dinner was a success in both social and culinary way. We had good raw materials - for instance local lamb, and easy understandable recipies for everything. For dessert we had ice with fresh ecological blueberries and strawberries. How on earth do you manage to get such jewels in April?
Next morning some of us went back to the Mainland early before the tide rise, while other waited till the road got accessible again during the afternoon.
We fell that the whole arrangement was extremely good value for money. We would have liked a bit more calmer winds as most us managed to get a bit wet. We all agreed that we could have spent and other day looking at the fantastic bird-life with millions of birds migrating through the wades every year.

Ribe Cathedral is one of Ribe's most popular tourist attractions and Denmark's oldest Cathedral. It is 63 meters long and 36 meters wide. An impressive Cathedral that is beautifully restored and with a completely different altarpiece. I have been told that when the COBRA painter Carl-Henning Pedersen started the decoration of the choir in 1982, there was a great discussion in Ribe. Today, most people agree that the work of art dresses the interior of the church.
The Cathedral is Denmark's only five-sided Cathedral and boasts distinctive styles, but largely the church is in the same style as when it was built over 850 years ago. The square tower dates back to the 13th century and is designed as the city's guard and storm bell tower with a magnificent view of the marsh landscape. The town situated here before the church was in the Viking Age and the early Middle Ages one of the most significant of the kingdom. An international trading city, to which foreign merchants came sailing with their goods.

One of the best museum we have ever visited with the latest technology and architecture. The building itself is amazing built amount the sanddunes incorporating the old bunker Tirpitz. With your own audio translater you can listen to information relating to the displays. Three Exhibitions...WW2, the west coast and amber. All three are interesting and there is something for everyone. The highlight for us...the "movie" shown on the walls with the history of life on the west coast was amazing.
Very popular so arrive early. Great place for people of all ages.

We walked out some way from Esbjerg city believing there to be a picturesque fishing town near the docks. How wrong can you be - the fishing port is extremely industrial nowadays & we could not find the museum in the vicinity although we had spotted a sign post!

The new Wadden Sea Centre is beautifully built from sustainable materials. The museum tells a facinating story about the wadden sea, its people and animals and flora. The modern displays, multi-screens, and high-quality movies is an ideal way to make people care about the Wadden sea environment and its any inhabitants. Also ideal for families with children as the exhibits are good for all ages.

These men are hugh! They are very impressive in size and form - you can take great photos and kind of interact with them - strangely enough. They are overlooking the Atlantic and below is a fantastic sand beach. I am glad we had the chance to go here to see them. Well worth the extra trip.

We had a nice time here. Compared to its size there are quite a lot of animals and even lions etc. Some Playgrounds for children too and plenty of places to sit and relax.
We liked that you can get really close to the animals here.
Only thing not so nice is that the park could do with some more maintenance. Several swings for kids were partly broken and the general impression of the zoo area (plants, grass, sandboxes etc.) is that it is not being kept so well. One feels that with the entrance fee of 120,- they might be able to afford it.
Otherwise a nice zoo and easy to get to if you are in the area anyway for a holiday or visit.
