The Emirate of Abu Dhabi (/ˌæbuː ˈdɑːbi/, /ˌɑː-/, or /-ˈdæ-/; Arabic: إمارة أبوظبي Imārat Abū Ẓaby, pronounced [ʔabuː ˈðˤɑbi]), is one of seven emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the largest emirate by area (67,340 km), accounting for approximately 87 percent of the total land area of the federation. Abu Dhabi also has the largest population of the seven emirates. In June 2011, it was estimated to be 2,120,700 people, of which, 439,100 people (less than 21%) were Emirati citizens, which has risen to 2.3 million in 2012.

We have decided to give Al Ain Zoo Safari a chance to try and it definitely was an excellent idea! The ticket grants an entry for the Zoo attractions plus the SUV ride into the Safari experience which take around 45-60 mins. The ticket must be bought in advance through their official website and it will cost AED 1050 for 6 people (who can get into the SUV) and this includes Giraffe feeding which the kids loved the most. The experience was fun and we totally enjoyed the day and it was one to remember.

My wife recently booked tickets to the zoo and there was a special activity where you can have a closeup lunch experience with the big cats i.e. Leopard and Lions and initially I thought the idea was rather silly especially given the price tag but after going through with the experience, I can truly say it is worth the price. Before I talk about the Lunch with the Big Cats, the overall zoo experience was also great. They had animals from around the world, many from the middle-east and African continents where you often cannot find in other zoos. It was clean and the staff were professional and helpful. You can buy grass to feedback the animals which our kids really enjoyed. Now back to the lunch experience, it was a private session where we were sat in a room right in between the Leopard and the Lion's sanctuaries. As you can see from the pictures on their web site, a bulletproof glass separates us from the animals and while we were dining on burgers and hot dogs, our Leopard and Lion friends were also fed their lunch while we enjoy their company, up close and personal. The best part for me was the guide Meena who was educating us about the animals, their backgrounds and their nature and all. We got some lovely photos out of this and our kids also really enjoyed the experience as much as we did as adults. Highly recommended.
