If you have an interest in the yesteryear, this is well worth a visit. They have a children's section and a water play area that we skipped but still spent 4 hours visiting all the fully furnished buildings and talking to the costumed attendants. Be on the lookout for "James The Patent Medicine Peddler", a charming young man who will happily show you his suitcase of old remedies and explain how you might use them. All the attendants invite questions and, because we did not speak French, they all gave their very best English which was enough to understand the gist of what they were saying. As seniors, we welcomed the prevalence of benches to sit on but be warned - there is a formidable hill at the entrance/exit, which is no problem when you go in and down but save a little energy for the climb up to leave. Pick up your lunch at the cafeteria and carry it to the pavilion overlooking the lake to eat where there is a nice breeze in the summer. The stained glass in the Chapel is stunning.

Expérience très agréable pour les enfants. Il faisait très chaud la journée de notre passage, et nous avons trouvé qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup d'ombre. Les enfants ne voulaient plus partir (3 et 8 ans).

There was a neatly laid out collection of antique photographic equipment including cameras and photo enlargers. There was no English and we found it difficult to understand the sequencing of the items.
