The Weingut has a very nice and large tasting room. The man behind the counter was not overly friendly, seemed a bit too sure of the superiority of their super dry wines.
Not my glass of wine and I continued to Wassermann Jordan (see my review).

Much larger and better than I'd imagined from the outside.
Equipment ranging from electron microscopes to camera obscura. Good descriptions and explanations but only in German.
Very accurately catalogued and grouped together so that if you're over 30 you can find favourites from your youth. Yep...plenty of room for nostalgia here.

To get a tasting, you ring a bell. Shortly after Mr Kimich opened the tasting room and let me taste every one of is wines. Very friendly. I like the wines a lot. Good deal. Quite cheap for the quality offered. Loaded up the trunk and off to the next wineyeard.

Hatte zum Geburtstag einen Gutschein für eine ''Weinbergtour'' mit diesem Anbieter geschenkt bekommen. Nun bin ich nicht so der Freund von Gutscheinen und war auch etwas skeptisch ob mir Segwayfahren liegen würde. Ich hatte dann angerufen und gefragt, wann ich denn diesen Gutschein einlösen könnte. Die Gegenfrage des Anbieters war, wann ich denn fahren wolle, man würde versuchen meinen Wunschtermin zu realisieren. Ich nannte einen Tag und bekam 3 verschiedene Startzeiten vorgeschlagen....Top. Uhrzeit vereinbart und noch einige Hinweise zum Ablauf bekommen.
Die Tour startete an einem Bettengeschäft. Außer mir waren noch 5 weitere Teilnehmer dabei. Auf einem Privatgelände wurde die Einweisung durch unseren Guide gemacht. Erstaunlich, wie schnell man mit so einem Segway klar kommt. Und dann die Tour....einfach nur toll. Ich kenne die Gegend sehr gut von ausgedehnten Spaziergängen. Mit dem Segway sieht man das Bekannte, was man liebt und schätzt...die Pfalz halt :-), aus einer anderen Perspektive. Sehr schön!

Family run winery. We were lucky to be alone for a tasting, so Kathrin had a time to explain us everything we wanted to know and even more. She is a young generation that takes over the family business and it will be interesting to watch, how the winery will develop under her lead. Nice place with very good wines. Definitely place to visit.

Our hotel (Deidesheimer Hof) recommended this winery along with 3 others, it was wonderful. Even though their wines have minimal export to the US the welcome, explanations and tasting were all welcoming, and the urban setting is lovely. Would love to come back with a group of friends! Very wide selection of wines were available for tasting at a wide price range, and the tasting included a wonderful description of the various wine/vineyard qualities and properties. We did about 6 or 8 tastings in the general weinstrasse area, and thought this was the one where we learned the most.
