I can understand that Italian cuisine is difficult to understand outside Italy, but now we have internet, tv and media that can help cooks all over the world how it works.
here I believe that single dishes are not bad, the problem is that they're assembled together randomly!
I was brought chicken with ravioli with besciamella and pesto...... these are 4 different things that don't go well together and they are part of different Italian plates! it was all mixed into one plate.
plus they add peperonata everywhere but it should be used only in one plate and not as a side with steak, chicken, meatballs and so on.
then fish, salmon with boletus sauce, mushrooms don't have to be mixed with fish! it's terrible and definitely not Italian.
and pizza rochetto.. rochetto it's not even an Italian word and they bring you one pizza rolled up.. manually rolled up like a cylinder or a cone! never seen something like that in my whole life!!
anyway I think it's, sadly, the best restaurant of Iisalmi, I let you imagine how the others are.

We had a lunch here summer 2013. The setting is great, as the restaurant is located by the Porovesi lake, in the Iisalmi harbour. Summertime, the view is great from the large teracce. Don't eat inside!
Bad idea from the entrepreneur for the last summer's lunch time was that there was ONLY buffet available, not the a la carte menu. The buffet is expensive comparing to value. The a la carte menu is wide enough, having interesting choices.
I think the place should more emphasize local food, as there is eg. Charolais beef cattle on the opposing shore available. A good ched would make a difference here, worth while a place for Gordon (or finnish mr. Sukula) to visit...

We were eating out in a group pf 9 and had really great portions. Not fancybut really tasty stakes! A pleasent surprise and the price is not too bad!

Very nice, affordable lunch. Very good service. Taste was very good, but there was too much salt in the food and salad was finished (and no more was available). Recommend to use less salt with meat and have salad available.

This is out of place in its environment, much better than usual cafés by stores. They have special tea selection and thrir pies are yummy.

Nice little independent cafe but unfortunately they didn't have any vegan options available. My non vegan friends enjoyed their pastries a lot. Soy cappucino was good and it was served with little dairy free dark chocolate. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
