What to do and see in De Lorimier, Canada: The Best Things to do

August 22, 2021 Hana Mouser

Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park.

While in Montreal celebrating an important birthday with my oldest friend (who is a big fan of spas), we booked a “Ritual”, which is a four-hour, multi treatment experience. I chose the Evasion Ritual. I am not familiar with spas in general, although I do get regular massages, so this review is without much to compare to. The Ritual begins with a sauna, then a specialized bath, a scrub, body wrap and finally, massage. There is a break with light snacks in the middle and a relaxation area with water and teas available throughout. The rooms were very pretty and the ambience was calm-low light, scented diffusers, etc...They supply all of the necessities and so I literally brought nothing with me. The sauna did what a sauna does and was hygienic (towels on the seats and floor). The delightful mud bath was in a giant tub with jets and felt very relaxing. After that, we had a break and chilled out for a while. The time in between felt a little long to me, but they had to clean between treatments and the space is on the smaller side. My masseuse was delightful! She explained the process of the scrub and body wrap and did a wonderful job. So relaxing! The shower after that was tricky, as the hardware holding the hand shower head was broken and so I had to hold the shower hose the whole time (I reported this and so I’m sure it’s being fixed-a small annoyance in the big picture). My skin felt amazingly soft and smooth afterwards. The massage was excellent-communication was clear about my expectations and needs and the masseuse was very professional and talented. I walked out of there feeling better than I had in months. Because of the logistics of treating two people at the same time, It took an hour longer than expected (five hours!), but we were both pleased with the quality of the treatments and lovely staff. I would love to come back and do this again some day.
