Quadventure

Quad Biking is an exciting and adventurous sport. It can be a gentle trek or a challenging adventure, but regardless of where you start or finish, rain or shine, you’ll have a great time at Quadventure. The course is set out over 80 acres under the Scenic Backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains. There are level fields, dug out ditches, dips and turns and waterlogged gripes to drive through. You can pause to take in the stunning scenery and then continue the adventure.

The panel were outstandingly beautiful and showed the extraordinary craftsmanship of local talented "stitchers". The panels lay out a wonderful history of the foundation and development of New Ross. A must-see whenever in New Ross. Well worth a slow intake of this magnificent tribute to all involved.

Bevel Furniture

Just had my second visit to Bevel woodworking school. I made the bird house on my first visit and this weekend was spent making the Adirondack chair. Tommy is a fantastic teacher and very patient. The other participants were lovely, such a peaceful environment and happy atmosphere to spend quality time in. The bird house and the chair turned out amazing I'm delighted to say the least. I came straight home and booked my next visit to try the wood spirit and my brother was so impressed he's coming with me. Pauline Byrne

Green Road Gardens

My name is Irene Kelly. My formal training includes basket making and horticultural skills, but my interest in crafts and gardening goes back to my childhood. I grew up in a household where making and creating were part of everyday life. This experience greatly enriched my life and so I enjoy the sharing and passing on of the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years. Here at Green Road Gardens we offer a variety of classes including: basket making; gardening; crafts; stone carving; building living willow structures; vegetable and herb growing; preserving; and many more. Here our tutoring style involves lots of practical and hands on training in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Bespoke classes also available for groups on request.

Having attended this class last year and loving it, had a good idea of what to expect, but this one turned out to be so good, am already looking forward to booking a place in 2020. So much to learn and never enough time, as Irene is a natural teacher, patient and encouraging and has such a wealth of knowledge. So generous too, which we soon discovered when presented with her perfect home cooking. Make sure to explore her beautiful garden as you'll see hints of some of the other classes she gives. Bring a friend, they'll thank you.

Irish Agricultural Museum and Famine Exhibition

Museum featuring extensive displays relating many aspects of life in rural Ireland in the former farm buildings of the Johnstown Castle estate. Large collection of Irish country furniture as well as farm machinery, reconstructed workshops, kitchens through the ages and exhibition about the Great Famine of the 1840s. Trails and quizzes available for children / families. Tea room and gift shop. Set within Johnstown Castle Gardens.

Reviewed By Bluerobin59 - Warrington, United Kingdom

This museum is very comprehensive in covering rural Irish life. There are rooms of farm machinery then an exhibition on the Great Famine which is excellent giving the explanation about how the potato blight occurred as well as the consequences. It contexts it with the political and economic context and gives the migration story that occurred afterwards. There are also displays of Irish craft trades in separate shop fronts which is good. There is a small exhibition of Irish travellers with a traditional caravan and there is artwork throughout. It’s part of the Johnstown Castle estate and well worth a visit.
