The dunes are currently the subject of an active conservation policy by Wexford County Council ensuring that this marvellous amenity and the plant and wildlife it contains, will be preserved for future generations. A nature trail runs through the dunes and continues for 5 km to Raven Point, passing through the beautiful peninsula which constitutes Raven Nature Reserve.

So happy I stopped here. Lovely beach with a great atmosphere, and for all the movie fans steven Spielbergs saving private Ryan was filmed here

Come visit Seal Rescue Ireland for a unique and educational experience for all ages. They rehabilitate 60-80 seals a year that you are able to see up close. They are open everyday. They are a not for profit organization that does not charge an admission fee but donations are suggested. Please show your support by visiting the seals!

A great job done on the gardens which complement a visit to Tintern Abbey itself.Very helpful,informative staff.Would be very worthwhile visisity the gardens during the "growing season" as then you can really appreciate the wonderful array of colours.

Loved this place staff were very friendly and informative.Great to see the old homestead where jfk had famous tea party.Museum is full of Kennedy artifacts and information. Really worth a visit, top class place lovely to meet Patrick kennedy too who was so very generious with his time.

This museum is very comprehensive in covering rural Irish life. There are rooms of farm machinery then an exhibition on the Great Famine which is excellent giving the explanation about how the potato blight occurred as well as the consequences. It contexts it with the political and economic context and gives the migration story that occurred afterwards. There are also displays of Irish craft trades in separate shop fronts which is good.There is a small exhibition of Irish travellers with a traditional caravan and there is artwork throughout. It’s part of the Johnstown Castle estate and well worth a visit.

Excellent choice for a family day out when in Wexcord county. Children can ride their bikes there and there is also a big picnic area with the playground. Peaceful and lush green with numerous little benches and places to rest your feet. There is a nice little lake with ducks and geese where you can sit and enjoy.

We had a fantastic visit at the Irish National Heritage Park. We decided to take a guided tour, which I highly recommend as the tour is very informative, atmospheric and really immerses you into Irish history. Our guide, Brídín, was funny and extremely knowledgable, not only about Irish history but also about Wexford, and she made the visit highly enjoyable. The tour takes you right through ancient Irish history up to the vikings and it really brings this period to life with all of the old settlements, the smell of the open fires as you walk through the park and the costumes. To my knowledge they also do other activities in the heritage park such as courses, archery, birthday parties, viking feasts and the very interesting ring fort stay overs, where you can book to stay in one of the ring forts overnight and have the park to yourself. Around Halloween time they also hold other events which I will definitely check out. In terms of accessibility the park is fairly wheelchair friendly and there were good parking facilities. The tours are also offered in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Polish, Irish and English in the form of an audio guide which is quite handy, but I would highly recommend going on a tour with a guide as this really made the experience even more engaging. At the end of our trip we got lunch in the Fulacht Fiadh restaurant and it was very tasty and quite reasonably priced. There is also a classy gift shop at admissions which offers a range of tasteful Irish souvenirs (including some delicious Wexford chocolates...). All in all this was a great day out and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in Wexford for the day. This would be an absolutely super place for a school tour for young and old kids as well as for birthdays. Thanks again to Brídín!

The national 1798 centre is well worth a visit , its layout and displays are well maintained and give a definitive account of Rebellion in Ireland and worldwide
