What to do and see in Centre-Ville (Downtown), Canada: The Best Shopping

September 28, 2021 Roger Rusk

Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park.

I was so happy to see a place like this finally open in Montreal. I've seen the concept in New York but it cost 150 US$ to make a lipstick. Although many people could still find it pricey at about 65$, remember you are not just paying for the lipstick you are paying for the experience. This experience satisfied my hunger to learn about everything I use. I recently went on a trip to Costa Rica and learnt how chocolate was made. For me making this lipstick and having the opportunity to mix until I get my perfect color was super fun and enriching !!! ohhh...& there's also the perfect scent that I chose and smell on my lips every time I wear it: Strawberry and champagne <3

Cheap Thrills

I've shopped here since I was a kid. I think the Bishop St (RIP) store predated me on Earth. Great stores, both, They used to buy at 50% of their selling price, which is fairer than just about any other store I've visited. I've found some gems and kicked myself retroactively for stuff I've seen there and passed on. Not the hugest used record selection, but decent and fairly priced. Good selection of new titles. I always pass through when I'm in Montreal.
