Don't waste precious petrol and time to visit these "rochers". Route/highway markers are very few and far between. There are many glacial formations in this region. Some are interesting to behold but none of them achieve "rock star" status. Trails are not easy to navigate, over rocks, tree roots, etc. One of the rocks "Le Rocher D' oiel" is 1/3 of a mile from parking area. These formations are not easily reached by someone 70 plus. Buy a postcard

If you enjoy Goya, you will like being here. Nice museum. Closed 12-2. Upstairs/ no lift in sight Large areas, one area dedicated to weapons

The park is nicely situated up the right bank of the small and shallow Agout river, tributary to the Tarn. We took the "Coche d'eau" bark from Castres town, shuttling up and down the river every hour. During the trip we spotted a kingfisher bird. The park consists of a large green esplanade up a modest hill with a watch tower (sadly closed) and a nice old villa. From a bench we watched people practising their putting on a neighbouring golf course. The park was nice and quiet but the boat tour was superbe!

Jean-Jaures was a seminal figure in the history of European politics - he could reasonably be considered the founder of modern democratic socialism. Castres is proud of him as a favorite son and this museum is devoted to his life and work. For those of us who care about history, human rights, workers' rights or peace this is an important place to visit. You need to read French to get the most from it, but the museum is well worth the time.

Den første kirke på dette sted led, ligesom Castres’ Cathédral Saint-Benoit, stor skade under de franske religionskrige sidst i 1500-tallet.
Opførelsen af en ny kirke blev påbegyndt i 1607, men i 1741 blev kirkens udseende ændret, så den kom til at minde om Chiesa del Gesù i rom, alle jesuitterkirkers forbillede.
Da jeg ville besøge kirken en søndag omkring middagstid, var den ikke åben, og jeg fik desværre ikke set den indvendigt.
Kirken ligger i Rue Victor Hugo, og da det er en forholdsvis smal gade, var det ikke muligt at få taget et ordentlig billede af kirkens facade.
