St John the Baptist Church

Reviewed By sianb302 - Amersham, United Kingdom

Having visited the church regularly as a child, I went back to view the newly discovered and refurbished paintings. Simply stunning; the technology that has been used to make everything easier to see is very simple but so effective. It’s a beautiful church, with an amazing history and well worth a visit.

St Lawrence's Church

Reviewed By cdh3 - Chinnor, United Kingdom

Sat on top of West Wycombe hill next to the Dashwood family mausoleum, St Lawrence's Church is a plain on the outside, except of course the glided golden ball that sits atop its tower. The interior however is lovely, stunning painting and fabulous painted ceiling. I don't believe it is open all the time but I know they do tea and cake on a Sunday afternoon. Worth going to visit.

St Mary the Virgin Church

Take a moment to look up and take in every aspect of this wonderful church. Everything about it is quintessential English. Enjoy the views and take a moment to read the headstones in the graveyard and wonder about the lives of those buried here. The church is featured in the sitcom 'The Vicar of Dibley.' Well worth a visit.

St. Michael and All Angels sits as an enclave within the picturesque National Trust estate of Hughenden Park. The church is closely associated with the Victorian prime minister Benjamin Disraeli whose tomb lies within its grounds. There is also a memorial to him inside the church, given by Queen Victoria.
