The team at the Hampton were great. I travel a lot with work, and you become used to moving through many similar hotels which are usually instantly forgettable. What initially made this stay stand out was the difference the team made to the experience. Corporate hospitality is a given expectation at any reception, but here Wojeck made the experience a personal and genuine one. Our stay was unfortunately overtaken by events but once again the team surpassed my expectations and were sympathetic and discrete, helping us to overcome a difficult time with the minimum of fuss. The help given by the Sales Manager, Marianne, was particularly so, resolving our reservation and administration. Their support during a difficult time made the experience much easier to manage and I am very grateful for it.

Overnight stay

Stayed here overnight to visit a tourist attraction the following day. When we got to our room the television didn't work so called reception. The guy on reception (Reg?) was very helpful and, when it couldn't be fixed he arranged for us to be moved to a different room. We booked the meal deal and that worked well at the adjoining restaurant.

Beautiful Hotel - One of the best

Majestic location overlooking the Thames. Beautiful grounds and hotel. We went for a late night walk after a lovely meal around the 62 acre grounds and bumped into a herd of deer! The hotel backs onto the Thames but elevated. There are viewpoints in the grounds too to relax and soak up the beautiful views. We walked from the hotel along the river to both Henley and Marlow, Henley walk is better as it's more open to the river. Both towns filled with great pubs and top notch restaurants. There are also regular buses going to and from the two towns which stop at the hotel so I didn't drive at all during my stay. Used the spa regularly, sauna, steam room, pool also had a great massage one day as well. Stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe room for our anniversary. The room is very classy. High ceilings, luxurious decor, spacious, access to shared terrace and amazing views again. Had a lovely breakfast brought to the room on 2 mornings which just added to luxury. It was a perfect trip. Thank you Danesfield House!

Bring earplugs!

Reviewed By karenalynn

It’s a Travelodge: good value, simple, clean accommodation. The hotel website warns that it’s a town centre location and there may be outside noise: I accept that. But the road outside is a short length of dual carriageway between two roundabouts, so vehicles are always accelerating away from one or the other. It carries a 30 mph limit, but kn Saturday nights it seems every “souped up” car in High Wycombe feels obliged to drive past with maximum noise until the early hours of the morning. With no air conditioning even in a relatively cool June evening the window had to be open: it’s the worst night’s “sleep” I’ve ever had in a Travelodge. Bring earplugs!

Great hotel, nice rooms

Reviewed By 129mariannk

Great hotel, nice rooms. We went there after being let down by another Holiday Inn Express in Colchester. The room was very nice, clean, comfortable for 1 adult and 2 children. Nice, full of english breakfast and buffeet, nice staff. Reason of 4 stars and not 5, because the TV signal was really bad and we couldn't watch the Queen's Jubilee. I have not complained though, I did not have the energy to move to another room. On Saturday evening it was not possible to have a dinner at the restaurant but cheap pizza was made us very fast and we ate it in our room.

Meh...

Reviewed By M B

--THE GOOD-- Breakfast was great. Room cleanliness, facilities and level of comfort perfectly acceptable... --THE BAD AND THE UGLY!-- ...large hole in the wall where it looked as if someone had put the corner of a furniture item / their fist / their foot, was not acceptable! My young daughter asked me why it was there and I had no answer! Check-in system panels at reception seemed to be down, queue was building and staff were running around (leaving reception desk unattended), seemingly talking to each other but not to the guests to give anyone any idea what was going on; no real front of house welcome to speak of. My door key just stopped working half an hour before checkout time the next morning whilst I was loading the car (again, no proper explanation from staff), with half my stuff still locked in our room; fortunately there was a cleaner in the corridor who managed to give me access after several wasted trips back and forth to reception.
