Best place to chill with family during the day, a little side trip to Wells Gray Park/ Helmcken Falls and enjoy the MUSIC in the evening. Camping or there are some cabins and accommodations available along the N Thompson River. Shirley, your hostess definitely with the Mostess!!! The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts

This center serves as a venue for both performance and teaching in the arts.

Reviewed By Tripsterchick

This is a lovely open, airy building that makes a perfect coffee stop if you’ve been walking around Deer Lake Park, visiting the Burnaby Art Gallery (a very short walk to the centre) or going to the Burnaby Village Museum (across the street). There’s a nice little coffee bar just inside the entrance that serves drinks, baked items and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Tables and chairs are adjacent, or you can head to the other end of the building where there’s a seating area overlooking the park. Much of the art in the central portion is by Jack Shadbolt, a painter who spent the latter part of his life in Burnaby. Other areas of the building have rotating exhibitions. There are two theatres in the centre, but it seems to be primarily a teaching facility, with studios for dance, music and art. Lucky Burnaby! Wish there was something similar where I live.

Being regular theatre goers for many years, when we saw an opportunity to support the Theatre we registered immediately for a dinner/show and we’re very pleased that we did. The food ,service and Michael Clarke presenting the Sam Cooke story were all excellent The only suggestion we would have is heated dinner plates for the main course which would keep the food warmer, which was excellent for flavour and quality but could be served a tic warmer Cheers J. My beautiful daughter surprised me on my visit to the Okanagan with dinner out and tickets to “The Nutcracker” production of this unique theatre company. The weather provided a snow globe effect, and dressed warmly we delighted in this unique experience. I will forever remember it as a highlight of my trip!
