Go for the food

While the hotel seems a little tired the Pacific Restaurant more than makes up for it. The food was exceptional, and the staff were so nice and helpful, despite the current difficulties with staffing. We were here with a tour group, had breakfast twice and dinner once. The Sunchoke Soup was a standout, I really liked the Pickles and Hummus too. The bartender is quite knowledgeable and helpful. Avocado Toast for breakfast was a winner, and my husband really enjoyed the Blueberry pancakes. Presentation was outstanding.

Rooms are worn and dated

Reviewed By GourmandTrashPanda

I do love old classy hotels... when they are maintained accordingly. Unfortunately, I mixed up the Pacific Rim Fairmont with the Fairmont Hotel and so now I am stuck in a cramped worn room where the paint is chipped of the walls and the bathroom is reminiscent of a Japanese business hotel. Definitely not staying again.

Our visits to the Gold Lounge were always impressive. Had a wonderful Breakfast there. Sadly we had to leave The Empress but our stay was wonderful and Special. It was a Birthday Gift for my Husband. It’s the little things. The Shoe Horn, umbrella, 2 Bath Robes, slippers. Good China, a Teapot, Wine Glasses. Disappointing Stay

Great location but that is about it. Rooms were mediocre and felt tight. Bathroom door did not close properly and almost swung off the railings. Water was turned off in the entire hotel from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Seriously?
