I especially enjoyed the short movies on former workers at the various train stations. Fortunately there are English subtitles. There is much subtle oral history to learn from these video recordings; absolutely fascinating. Besides that, wander and see what interests you. But leave yourself extra time (at least 2 hours) to take the Darlux ski lift for viewing wonderful vistas. Another tip: the museum coffee shop is understaffed and can waste your precious time, so bring food or a snack along; or be prepared to wait.

We discovered the activity of "tobogganing" or going down a mountain on a sculpted, maintained track in 2001-and have been pursuing sledding nirvana ever since! Preda-Bergun-Darlix is absolutely the bomb! You take the train to Preda and sled down the wide, gently curving 6km run to Bergun, then at the end, hop on the chairlift for the steep, exciting 4 km track from Darlix! Repeat as often as desired! Don't forget to eat lunch at the mountain restaurant at the top of the chairlift! Views are incredible! After your final run, stop in Bergun at one of the little self-service cheese and sausage stands to buy some genuine alp cheese to eat on the way home, or the stand with hot drinks, or even the ice bar! The railway museum across from the train station makes s nice little detour if you have to wait for your connection back to your home base. Absolutely worth a special trip fora perfect day!
