The visit was very informative, and we especially liked that this was an active coffee plantation, which allowed us to understand Brazilian history a bit. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful, especially when we arrived later in the day than planned. They even took us to the pousada where we were staying the night.
Highly recommended.

The "Cachoeira Grande Farm is a large rural property on the outskirts of the city called "Vassouras" - Rio de Janeiro State - and has great importance for the history of its founder The Baron of "Vassouras" who was one of the most important figures of the century. XIX of the entire region. In the late nineties, after three decades of neglect and almost ruin the property was acquired by Francesco V. Caffarelli industrial and art collector who spared no effort to bring it back to full splendor. Today still has many historical improvements where stands the big house with over 1,200 square meters and where about 18 years from now the farm receives tourists from around the world for a true return to the past in a house alive (people live there) and not as a museum. The tour starts in the Gardens of the farm, near the lake and walk traverses a beautiful avenue of royal palms, passing alongside the ancient terraces used for dryed the coffee. Then going into the big house by the front door. Inside the house, it's told facts and objects. Paintings, porcelains, tapestries, furniture, chandeliers, pianos and many many other historical riches collected after many years of research and query between art auctions, antique shops, houses to be demolished, etc. At the end of the seven main halls, it's served a delicious freshly brewed coffee from natural grain, accompanied by warm cheese breads, juices, water and possibly other delicacies to match. Is expected soon to be install a local shop items and souvenirs, as well as opening other cultural spaces like Gallery Magdalena Vieira Manso, spaces for itinerant Exhibitions, etc.

One of the nicest Fazendas in the Vale do Café also has a charming bungalow that sleeps 4 people, by the lake. Ideal for families or group of friends. Very courteous and informative tour of the fazenda conducted by the owners, who live in the property.

This is a very pleasant and beautiful shop in Ipiabas. It carries fine handcrafted decorating item. The selection is very unique and it pleases sophisticated tastes, they are pricey, though.

Fomos num sábado depois do almoço num dia nublado, acho que o tempo contribuiu para que não estivesse mega lotado como dizem nas avaliações.
Achei o parque bem mediano, poderá ser novidade para quem nunca foi em Olímpia,Caldas Novas ou beach Park.Tem poucas atrações em relação aos outros aqui citados.
Achei um absurdo ter que alugar a boia para ir no rio lento, a maioria das pessoas não aluga e fica andando no rio sem a boia e perde todo o sentido, nos outros parques já e incluido no preço.

This cozy church is located in a pretty little town of 30 thousand people namd Vassouras; it is a charming place to visit in Brazil if you like peace and country style. The climate is fresh during the whole year but the best time to go to this region is during the Fesival Vale do Café - last weeks of july, when there are Concerts, farm visits and many activities prepared.
When I arrived there, I felt like travelling in time.

A quiet place where you can contemplate and imagine the horrible condition of humanity enslaved. There was no guided tour and many buildings are off limits due to dilapidated conditions, but the ones open are impressive.

Went with my family including, elders, children and an infant.
The placenter is an old coffee farm that has been renewed and transformed into a resort. It was very accomadating And the activities kept us busy and entertained. This resort is more a location for locals but after speaking with the owner I had learned that they are in the process of moving forward toward international guests. In my perspective since there is an English speaker as part of the staff members (the owners daughter Vannessa) I would definitely recommend this place to all ( both local and international) if you are sick of sitting on the beach and you want to try somthing different ( horse riding, rafting, animals, and different activities).
The staff is very nice. Very happy with my stay.
