We went on Family Day and it was way too packed to enjoy anything. Line ups out the door, not enough staff, no parking available, and the bathrooms were absolutely intolerable. It is not worth the drive.

Kee to Bala

It is nice that this landmark is still
Around. The history of this place is pretty awesome. Some of the greats have played here.
A new roof is being laid and the premises updated. The dock now offers yoga in the evening and the Concerts are second to none.
It needs a bit more updating but glad
To see it still around.

Bala's Museum with Memories of Lucy Maud Montgomery

The Bala Museum is a hidden treasure. Linda and Jack were wonderful tour guides - friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. As well as experiencing some of Anne's antics first hand, we learned a lot of the history of LM Montgomery during her time in Bala and about events in her personal life that we never knew about. The Bala Museum is one of the few places where you can see LM Montgomery's COMPLETE collection of every book she has written. There is a warm tribute to Jonathan Crombie who, of course, played 'Gil' in the Canadian series. There is a lovely gift shop where I purchased a few special books and my very own Raspberry Cordial!

Iroquois Cranberry Growers

Beautiful area for a stop.
The people were very informative about the growing and cultivation of cranberries...found out information I had never known and was completely misinformed in the past.
They offered samples of almost everything available for purchase ensuring you make the best decision.
Juice is delicious, dark chocolate covered cranberries are amazing and cranberry tart was a great desert! And if we weren't traveling by motorcycle we would have purchased more but due to storage constraints it wasn't possible.

Balacade

Reviewed By RonKVA - McLean, Virginia

We stopped here for an hour or two with three generations in tow -- including three young children who were delighted with Balacade and couldn’t get enough of the great old-fashioned stand-alone arcade games, even though they all have access to (and like to play) iPad games. I suspect that it would take a lot of visits for kids to win enough tickets for a significant prize, which should not be a major problem for local residents and summertime cottage dwellers. But even travelers just passing through need not depart without a prize. Children can spend as much time as they need with the “Claw” until they eventually retrieve a stuffed animal or other inexpensive novelty of their choice, and the kids don’t care at all about its monetary value.

Every time I go to Bala I stop by Windsor park. The water ski shows are amazing, if you are there on a Tuesday around 7:30pm you have to check it out, you will not be disappointed. Otherwise it's a great spot for a picnic and swim, or to grab some frozen yoghurt and just relax and watch the water.

My family and I did snowshoe hiking, snow mobiling and ice fishing with Darren. Darren was super thoughtful and provided all the gears we needed for the great experience. He had great knowledge of the area and his personal anecdotes really helped to add flavor for the trip. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a guided winter experience with an always cheerful guide.
