on the route to the Sillar Route where you visit quarries and areas where the sillar originated. We will visit the Añashuayco Quarry; In the place we will be able to appreciate an immense canyon with cliffs that are several meters high, formed by the extraction for the formation of the Sillares. You can see a Mega-carving of the Church of the Society of Jesus made by the stonecutters themselves. We can also visit some of them so they can explain to us what their daily work is like and make us experiment by cutting one of their stone blocks ourselves. then we will move to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, arriving at this point we will make a walk of approximately 20 minutes inside the small canyon that was formed by the passage of water  At the end of the walk we can see petroglyphs made by the Wari culture over a thousand years ago.

The tour was excellent: beautiful and very interesting scenery. Excellent guide speaking good English, very attentive to each person’s skills. I am senior and had slight difficulties with adjusting to altitude but the guide helped me to climb, waited for those who wanted to rest or take photos. He gave very good information about the area. The stone forest is spectacular and waterfalls worth seeing. Food was good. Organization excellent. Good value for the money. Highly recommend the trip. The tour exceeded my expectations!

Where do I start? I’m a solo traveler who booked a ticket to Peru 4 days before the flight and I’ve never been to South America and nor can I speak Spanish which made me anxious. Peru Hop was the first company I contacted via email and they have been super helpful!! From all the communication, the arrangements, Peru hop made it so so easy!! It’s not like the hop on hop off buses in Europe, this is a tour full of experiences and I’m always skeptical for paying to travel around but this is well worth it. More importantly the guides were great in particular Ricardo!! This guy made me feel so welcomed, talked to me like we’ve know each other for ages. He answered all my questions, made enquirer for me, and looked after me. Alex have such good insight to the national reserve. I met wonderful people and had the best time of my life. I’m booking Peru Hop again for Cusco to lake titicaca. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to share how good they were.

We spent three terrific days in Colca Canyon with a private guide from Perou Voyage. Breathtaking scenery, informative and fun hikes, condors galore, good food and surprises in town, a unique home stay on a small farm - it was a densely rewarding experience and for me the highlight of our trip to Peru.
