Fabulous Stay

Reviewed By 6geraldineb

Just back from 2 nights at the Plaza with our 2 kids (aged 10 and 7). We had a wonderful time. We had dinner in the hotel both nights and the food was absolutely delicious. Leisure centre facilities, the pool, sauna, jacuzzi, etc were great - especially when we had a rainy few days. All staff we met in the hotel, without exception, were friendly, helpful and professional. Would definitely return!

Lovely room but the breakfast is the jewel in the crown for this accommodation. Will return again. Thank you for a great stay.

Cockatil class

Reviewed By kyah29

I booked a cocktail class for a hen party last Sunday and it was amazing from start to finish. Everything from the booking to the activity ran so smoothly. Ravel is great at his job so attentive and everybody really enjoyed it. He even got us some finger food for a very reasonable cost which went down a treat with the girls. I would highly recommend the cocktail class for any hen parties or groups. Even just popping in for a cocktail you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful hotel

We booked The Mariner for a weekend break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the spotlessly clean and bright lobby we were delighted. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendy, the room was beautiful - spacious, with a huge bed, tea/coffee making facilities and sparkling bathroom with rainshower and bath tub. We were genuinely amazed that a little gem like this was to be found in Ireland at such a good price. Hotels often describe themselves as "boutique" when they really just mean small and possibly even drab, or dated. The Westport is a true boutique hotel. Full of character, super-friendly and possibly the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. To top it all, our meal at The Catch was fantastic. It's a casual venue with really good food, perfectly cooked and presented. No fuss or pretension, just great service and excellent quality food. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Westport Country Lodge Hotel is located Ballinvoy, Aghagower, Westport, about 3 miles outside Westport town in quite a remote area. We were there to celebrate a christening. A car is obligatory here as there’s no public transport and the area is quite remote, one of its many charms. As some other posts have indicated the food was great and reasonably priced. Great roast beef, fresh vegetables and potatoes – simple but tasteful traditional cooking. We took some group photos sitting on the wall surrounding the rectangular water fixture with dramatic views over Croagh Patrick and the verdant beauty of the surrounding areas. Set in 35 acres of grounds and there is also a pitch and putt course. We were reluctant to leave and plan to stay longer next time.

Good anchor point for a visit to the area but much better food on offer in town.

This hotel is in a good location to visit Westport as it is far enough from the town centre to not be noisy but still within walking distance. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and courteous, even the young girl who was training did an excellent job. We had an issue with our payment when we arrived but this was sorted out very efficiently and quickly. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom and very quiet also. The pool area could do with a bit of tlc as could the restaurant. I was nit impressed with our meal in the restaurant. I had the fish and chips and the batter was full of grease and very soggy. My husband ordered pan fried salmon and although he got salmon which was ok it must definitely was not pan fried. With a little bit more work this could be a brilliant hotel.

Westport Heights

We were so well taken care of, we never wanted to leave.

Reviewed By anselburch

We used Westport Heights as our home base for six days while we traveled around the West of Ireland sightseeing. Marta was an incredible host making sure we were prepared for every day. Her knowledge of the city was extensive and her connections with local restaurants and businesses were invaluable. She even went above and beyond to make sure we were able to get our laundry cleaned before leaving town for the next leg of our journey. As for the house, it was comfortable, well maintained, and luxurious. The room came with all the amenities we would have expected including a tea/ coffee station, nice linens, and a nice TV (on which we caught the Eurovision). The only thing we ran into trouble with was hot water and once we thought to mention it to Marta, she engaged a backup heater and it was solved. All you have to do is ask and she'll make sure you are taken care of. We will be coming back next time we travel to Ireland.
