A wonderful hotel in an idyllic location
Reviewed By stivalone1I traveled to Vent, Austria from the South Tirol in Italy for the purpose of climbing the Wildspitz, Austria's second highest mountain, and was originally planning on going back across the border as soon as that was accomplished. However, I was very enchanted with my first glance of Vent from the photos I had seen and so I decided to spend a couple of days there when I returned from the Wildspitze. I decided on the Hotel Macun based on the reviews that I read. It looked really nice but I certainly wasn't expecting one of the top hotel experiences of my life when I made the reservation. However, that is exactly what I got. The hotel slogan is "1907 meters beyond routine", which is certainly accurate. The welcome from Pirmin and Mallorie was beyond warm and enthusiastic. I felt at home immediately!! The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The wellness center is beautiful and spacious. But what is probably the most important aspect of this hotel for me is the wonderful cuisine of Pirmin. It all starts with a generous and delicious breakfast. Then there is cake and coffee time when you get back from your hike, followed by a fantastic dinner. This is the perfect place to relax!!! I will definitely be back in the this wonderful hotel as soon as possible!!!

Real mountain feeling
Reviewed By Lucie_46If you want to stay at a place, where you really FEEL the mountain, go there! Amazing place with very nice people (family Klotz and staff) and very good cuisine! We spent there 5 nights, including the best Easter Dinner we have ever had. Love it there and would like to come back in winter and also in summer... it must be wonderful. Reviewed By Riny KAs we drove from middle of Slovakia to final destination Vent, long ride and well worth to enter the Alps. For me a long time ago were I started alpine career 18 years ago.I wanted to book at Haus Eberhard but unfortunately fully booked as I new this accommodation years ago had a good experience. But then I found Gasthof Gstrein. Choose a family room for 4 persons, 2 adults and 2 children. Stayed for 5 nights (room nr:24) Very well accommodation separate rooms for children and parents. Children sleeping in bunk beds, when needed they offer a "drop board" which you can place if one of the kids might drop during there sleep. As Martina, owner, she was thinking in advance, great start for our get togetherness. Parents bed, amazing wake up view of mountains and fresh mountain air. Breakfast is good. As we also prepared in the morning our lunch for our day trips through the mountains. Gasthof Gstrein is an excellent home base to make your daily planning through the amazing area Tirol Alps. A nice detail is that this accommodation, only 2 hotels in Vent, offers you an Alps premium card. With this card, you have frees excess of public transport, cable lifts, and more activities. Beside of this extras the owner is very helpful, my son was not feeling well as she knew were to go for a children Doctor in Solden. Planning for families with children of ages of 11 years (and almost) 2 years old: You can have nice mountain trips, we went to Martin-Busch Hutte and back. Made it to the top of Hornlie gipfel. We went to the slopes of Wildes Mannle. Made the round Breslauer Hutte towards normal route to Wildes Mannle. Do not take short cuts as it should be a holiday experience I did not went to the top with the smallest, safety reasons. My wife and oldest son made it to the top. As me and my youngest son were lying on the slopes of Wildes Mannle. Make sure you are good equipped, as specially equipment material how to carry young children for those long distance you might walk. A good basic condition is handy to do trips like we did. After all those trips a good safe home base as Gstrein is super! I highly recommend Gasthof Gtrein. "Smell the flowers while you can"

Fantastic B&B experience
Reviewed By DB_CooperHallWe visited the Wildspitz in early April 2019, on either end of a hut to hut ski tour. Lovely place to stay and ski, absolutely wonderful accommodations and great food. Christina and family took care of all our needs and is a great skier as well (she passed me at warp speed one day!) Would love to visit again, can't recommend enough.

We had the 2 bedroom apartment that had a really nice living room with an open kitchen full of everything you might need (dishes, glasses, dishwasher machine, coffee machine, water heater, etc.) and a large terrace to brace the mornings. Plenty of space for us (2 adults plus 2 children). The Haus is really nicely furbished with a lot of beautifully chosen decorations. The owners were really nice and attentive, meeting us each morning at the breakfast time and making sure that we have everything that we might need. Really nice people and would love to have the same experience everywhere we are going. Thank you for everything!

Excellent Pension Elizabeth in beautifull Vent Otztal
Reviewed By Gerry KExcellent Pension Elizabeth in stunningly beautiful Vent Otztal Tyrol Austria Stayed April 2017 before and after ski touring with an Oav AACUK ski touring group. Access via train to Otztal Hbf then bus to Vent. Ski buses to/from vent to Soelden ( approx. 20 mins) and Obergurgl / Hochgurgl is free to all skiers. All 3 resorts are excellent for all skier abilities. There are quite a few busses. Pension Elizabeth is easy to find in the small farming and tourist village of vent. Just 2 minute walk from bus. The several adjacent 1 min walk restaurants offer lovely reasonably priced evening meals. You can rent ski touring equipment from the 2 local sport shops eg Sport 2000 who also speak English. Also perhaps from the local guides office. Vent is a stunning quiet and beautiful active farming village with excellent hut to hut ski touring access, lots of interesting grassy walks, a small ski lift system, buildings, lovely old church, Alpinist priest and Alpine Association founder Franz Senn history and more explained in the Tourist Office Interpretation Centre. Perfect for families and children. Best if you can speak a little German but if not you will get by ok at the pension. Lovely quiet spacious rooms and super breakfast in friendly Pension Elizabeth run by local village family. Includes WiFi and TV. Ski storage room. Ask and you may leave some gear while away ski touring. Many room types. E-mail and ask preference. Most double bed rooms have sleeper couches which provide separable sleeping bed options. Some rooms have a small kitchen. So e-mail and ask about if you need. Car Parking outside. Good value for money. Book it .. you will be very pleased. Gerry Kenny Ireland

Really nice :-) breakfast was super good too. It’s been the best gasthaus so far! Thank you Barbara! We would love to come again. Give the sweet dog a kiss from us. /The swedish couple with the two black and white dogs.

Very cosy, very friendly, very cheap, very helpful owner
Reviewed By richgilb1We have been here three times. One reason for returning was on our first visit, we got lost and arrived the next day and he did not charge us for the lost night. Another is when we leave at 6am in the morning he gives us a packed lunch, no charge. Another is the free creche all day. And the restaurant and bar area is the perfect alpine experience with log fire. Finally, he owns a ski hire shop and gives a good discount on equipment hire.
