We found Bistro Gourmand by chance on Wednesday lunchtime after discovering that The Trellis was closed. What a piece of luck! The three of us enjoyed widely differing meals, all freshly prepared and delicious, served at a leisurely pace while we enjoyed the sunshine in the outside seating area. Definitely a place to come back to, as we want to sample some of the other wonderful-sounding (and very French) items on the menu. The interior of the restaurant looks very inviting, and we though about coming one evening. We were told, however, that for an evening meal we would have to book weeks in advance. And the prices are not ridiculous.

Bright, cheerful, small french restaurant. We had duck rilettes, and goats cheese croquettes to start, followed by pork belly and raviolo, then shared two very good puddings. The food was lovely, and very tasty. The service was pleasant and efficient. This restaurant is quite noisy, but on a good way, everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. This was a test run for us as we have booked for Christmas lunch. Now I'm really looking forward to it.

In Brighton for the match against the mighty Norwich City. Visited Cafe Rouge on a wet and windy Friday evening. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive waiter (might have been Italian or Spanish but big thumbs up! - great customer service). Food was really good - very pleasantly surprised by the quality of my Boeuf Bourgignon Burger, washed down with a very drinkable Vedett IPA. All in all a nice warm place to be on a November evening.

We had an early evening meal and it was very good. Great pickled mackerel and grilled sardines for starters, venison and veggie risotto for mains. The squash was undercooked a bit in the risotto but it was still tasty. Interesting selection of organic wines and the owner is very charming and helpful.

Went with the family for a late lunch. As soon as you walk in you can see that the food looks freshly made. Everything tasted amazing and unlike other buffets I felt like I was eating healthy thanks to the vast choice of salads. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is a bit on the small side but they have an upstairs which accommodated for 6 of us. This place is 100% worth a try, I would definitely go back when I am Brighton next as itâs value for money and tastes amazing. Thereâs something for everyone itâs not just all veg they had chicken and meat Thank you for your lovely review of our Foodilic restaurant in Brighton - we are delighted to hear about your positive experience with our food.
