Super friendly owners and staff who quickly rectified an issue with our food. Nice cider selection. Would only add that the Kievs need more garlic but are otherwise good quality. Gourmet Society acceptance is also appreciated on a Saturday. Would return but perhaps would have the steak if available, unlike on our visit.

Excellent! The two staff were really helpful and very friendly so made for a lovely family lunch.They were very accommodating and as we were pre-ordering allowed items from the dinner menu instead of just the lunch menu.I had not realised there was a garden at the rear so will remember for another dayThank you so much for making a special day a real celebration.

We stayed at this lovely hotel,nice room,very nice staff and were anticipating good food also. Starter of black pudding croquette were ok,mains of rack of lamb and tournedos Rossini were unpalatable. My lamb was beige and sinewy and had white unrendered fat on it,can only think it was cooked in a steam oven or pre cooked, Steak was over cooked,sliced in half with pate in middle,placed on deep fried crouton which tasted of old oil.Overall was similar to mass catering at a function,steamed dull vegetables and frozen chips. Over use of peashoots on every course. Wine excellent. This is not fine dining in any way.Dear NebHertfordshireThank you for your review, my apologies for not spotting it sooner than this!I remember the weekend very well, we joked about you being a famous fiction writer with a distinctive name, I recall that you were self confessed foodies down for the Abergavenny Food Festival.The restaurant was busy that evening. Carolyn - our waitress heard you passing comment to each other about your steak, she mentioned it to Sulthan and Jamie who were looking after the restaurant. When they checked your mains separately you assured them that everything was satisfactory. They had previously checked with chef who confirmed that if a relacement was needed it would not have been a problem.Yes, our vegetables are freshly steamed, but our chips are hand cut from real potatoes. Glad to here that you enjoyed our superb Malbec. I do hope that you give us another visit soon.Kind regardsTStrong

I've eaten here several times now, both for Sunday lunch, week day lunch and for evening meals and every time the food and service has been fabulous. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality of food, staff are always friendly and welcoming and the menu changes seasonally, so there's always a good excuse to go back and try something new!

We came upon the Clytha Arms on 9th May 2019...and during our 3 day stay in Pempergwm...we ate here twice....the staff are very friendly....and the menu is very interesting indeed....I live in a town full of restaurants but this menu is full of unusual food...we enjoyed both our meals and found the prices including alcohol to be very reasonable..if we pass this way again we will definitely come back....oh and our dog was welcome too..
