that's about it. The castle itself is in very bad shape and you can't really climb on or through it. The view is beautiful and there is also a restaurant next to the castle and parking is plenty available. Nice stop when in the area or along the road but I won't consider it worth a visit as a single attraction.

This is a very different Church which is worth seeing. We had a guide who spoke excellent
English who could explain what it was all about inside and outside the Church.
Many symbolic items. I don´t think you get the most out of it if you go by yourself.

I have been here two times and both occasions have been very pleasant. The first time was in the winter and the second in summer and the view from the outdoor pool section over the valley is particularly nice. The facilities are good and invigorating and they also have a 'tropical rainforest area' for those who prefer higher humidity and temperatures. Unlike the sauna bit, this does not cost more. If you go after 1900 the prices are cheaper and you get a decent amount of time until it closes.

Very interesting: Even as I am not an AS fan I have to admit he is a very inspiring personality. And you would not fully understand this until you saw this place and met people who know him personally. Unfortunaly we missed his visit (with his daughter) here off just a few hours. This is a “must see” in Graz. Additional I recommend the AS walk around the area and the little lake. The restaurant there serves good food,-)

Huge place just out of town centre, easy walk though. Most of the glass ware downstairs in the shop is not local. There are samples of Glass blown by local Rudolf Wesinger opposite with information about him. Beautiful colours are seen in his works.
Barnbach has many other attractions worth seeing such as the Mosesbrunnen in the Stadt Park.
Konrad Bergman Hauptschule & the Church of St Barbara & grounds redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Schloss Eggenberg

The unique architecture of Schloss Eggenberg, the most important great house in Styria, is a complex symbolic representation of the universe. At the same time, with its impressive combination of Baroque interiors (magnificent state rooms), magical Gardens and park, and priceless collections of the Universalmuseum Joanneum (Alte Galerie with its old masters paintings, Archaeology Museum and Coin Cabinet), Eggenberg contains a fascinatingly varied Panorama of Styrian culture over the centuries.UNESCO World Heritage Site!
